.@Ladyfatimabio It fascinates me when a first lady blames activits for not visiting her office with data. I believe in your position you have access to all the data you need, and can even commission research to get more data if the topic interests you. This is ignorance 😒 #EndFGM
Who said men don't care about the suffering of their wives, sisters, and friends as a result of #FGM. Watch our documentary that follows up our trained male champion who have turned #MenEndFGM champions in their communities. https://t.co/AvZAuDPtB6
"I have three wives. If we had laws that allowed me to sue my inlaws, I could gladly do so. They made my wives suffer. This injustice against our women & girls has to stop" #MenEndFGM .. Full documentary https://t.co/S7w7JvcccS #EndFGM
"Any time I stood to speak in my community, they thought I was crazy. I come from this community, my wife is cut, my mum was cut, and all my sisters were cut. " Chief Sampeke.

We have really violated our girls, I am a polygamous man with three wives, and if I get an uncut woman, I will marry her as my 4th wife. "Watch now the follow-up documentary of the trained champions" https://t.co/2ddClCRkSG #MenEndFGM#EndFGM#SDG5

I chose to study the MA Gender & Development (MA GAD) at a turning point in my journey. I was leading the #MenEndFGM online campaign and the MEF. While the online campaign gained massive traction, it also faced resistance, especially from seasoned female activists who questioned the legitimacy and intent of men occupying feminist and survivor-centred movements.

"The course (MA GAD) shifted my approach from “helping” to movement building, from awareness-raising to systems change. It strengthened my work in male engagement, safeguarding & context specific community-led prevention of HPs." - @TonyMwebia

The silence of men is deemed as support for this practice. That's a FACT!
Then why do we choose to blame men and the Patriarchy rather than investing in sensitisation and getting them to Speak UP? #EndFGM#MenEndFGM
With 5 years to go until 2030, why are we stuck with what we have done since the 1980s and expect different results? Why not intensify engagement of men and boys alongside other interventions and see if the results will be different? #MenEndFGM#EndFGM
We are brought up/socialised to believe men know it all. Hence, believing they have no idea as to what happens during the cut is not in our DNA. "They must know since they know everything" let's blame them. #EndFGM#MenEndFGM
Yesterday at the climax of the National learning convening on #EndingHarmfulPractices in Kenya @MenEndFGM had an opportunity to showcase the impact of male champions training through a documentary featuring champions trained between 2020/21. #MenEndFGM
Proud moment in 2025! 👏 Showcasing what has become of #MenEndFGM - From online campaign to making impact in communities. ... This was the first tweet on 9th Oct 2014 that birthed the movement! #KeepChildrenSafe
What a proud moment 👏 4 years down the line after their reactions went viral in the #EndFGM spaces. We did a follow-up and they have lived up to the promise made. They vowed to protect their daughters and wives & have gone beyond to be role models in their communities #MenEndFGM

Happy Mashujaa Day!
I spent the better part of last week deep in Manyara Province, Tanzania training amazing male champions. The province is tied at the highest prevalence of FGM in Tanzania at 43%(KDHS 2022). #MenEndFGM#GlobalGoals
I felt real-time change as I engaged selected influential men including religious leaders, youth, cultural leaders, police and chiefs. Happy to have met and transformed the Mang'ati, Iraqw, Wahadzabe among others. #MenEndFGM#GlobalGoals
