As India prepares to celebrate International Day of Yoga 2026, the Ministry of Ayush, in association with Habuild Healthtech Pvt. Ltd., is organising a Guinness World Record attempt for the largest online Yoga session on 14 June 2026.

Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director General, EDII Ahmedabad, met with Prof. (Col.) Diwan S. Rawat, Vice Chancellor, Kumaun University, Nainital, to discuss strengthening entrepreneurship and innovation across Uttarakhand's higher education ecosystem.

The meeting focused on promoting local food-based enterprises, facilitating FSSAI certification, fostering entrepreneurial culture among students, and enhancing market access for emerging entrepreneurs. Discussions also reviewed the progress of the Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana and explored opportunities to strengthen industry linkages and entrepreneurial support for youth.

The interaction highlights a shared vision to create greater entrepreneurial opportunities for students and strengthen the startup ecosystem in Uttarakhand.

Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director General, EDII, visited MB Government PG College, Haldwani, to interact with students selected for the Residential Bootcamp under the Devbhoomi Udyamita Yojana (DUY), an initiative of the Higher Education Department, Government of Uttarakhand, implemented by EDII.

During the visit, he encouraged students to embrace innovation, identify opportunities, and pursue entrepreneurship as a pathway to creating impact. He also felicitated the selected students and congratulated them on their achievement.

Marking World Environment Day, Dr. Shukla and the college leadership planted saplings, reaffirming their commitment to sustainability and a greener future.

Dr. Shukla also participated as a distinguished panellist at the International Entrepreneurship Symposium (IES) 2026, organised jointly by MARA Malaysia and UniKL RCMP at the World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur. He shared insights during the Integrated Dialogue session on “Aligning Ecosystem, AI, ESG & Capital”.

As part of the visit, Dr. Shukla interacted with participants of the Advanced Training of Trainers’ Programme and held meetings with representatives from Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Berhad (PUNB), HRD Corp, Government of Malaysia, and Kings University College to explore future collaborations in capacity building and entrepreneurship promotion.

The visit reflects EDII’s continued commitment to fostering global partnerships and strengthening entrepreneurship ecosystems across borders.

Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director General, EDII, undertook an official visit to Malaysia from 3rd to 6th May 2026 to strengthen international collaborations and deepen partnerships in entrepreneurship development with Malaysian institutions.

During the visit, Dr. Shukla had the opportunity to apprise Hon’ble Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, of EDII’s past and ongoing initiatives in Malaysia. The Hon’ble Deputy Prime Minister also conferred the “Global Strategic Partner” Award on EDII in recognition of its contribution towards promoting entrepreneurship in Malaysia in collaboration with Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), Malaysia.

The institute inaugurated the Eco Action Learning Centre (ELC) in Bangalore on 28 April 2026.

The inauguration was graced by Ms. Manisha Bhattacharya, Managing Director - Corporate Citizenship, Accenture, along with Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director General, EDII, and Dr. Raman Gujral, Director – CSR Partnerships, EDII.

The Centre serves as a hands-on experiential training facility under the Micro Skill Development Programme (MSDP), enabling rural entrepreneurs to gain real-time exposure to eco-friendly production systems and small-scale enterprise operations. Key focus areas include food processing, sustainable products, and micro-enterprise activities.

By integrating practical learning with enterprise readiness, the initiative aims to strengthen sustainable rural livelihoods while promoting environmentally responsible entrepreneurship.

Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director General, EDII, along with the EDII team, met the Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Ladakh Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena, to discuss building a strong entrepreneurship ecosystem for the youth. The interaction focused on strengthening opportunities through ongoing and proposed initiatives in the region.

During the visit, Dr. Shukla also met Shri Ashish Kundra, Chief Secretary, UT Ladakh, to deliberate on establishing a Centre for Entrepreneurship Development to expand outreach and scale entrepreneurship promotion across the Union Territory.

Building on these discussions, the Institute continues to advance its commitment to building inclusive and sustainable entrepreneurship ecosystems across the region.
