The City of Johannesburg, through a Joint Law Enforcement Operation at the Hill East Road, is conducting a clean-up and by-law enforcement initiative. The operation involves the JMPD and the Department of Home Affairs, targeting illegal activities and addressing environmental concerns in the area.
As part of the operation, authorities are taking action against illegal bottle-bin recyclers and clearing waste from the site. The vacant land will be secured with fencing to maintain cleanliness and prevent further illegal occupation or dumping while awaiting future development.

The EFF has consistently held that the Council Speaker misled council and even the people of Ekurhuleni during the budget adjustment voting process, by announcing that the item passed even when it was rejected by majority of council.
