The absence of lesbian and bi+ theorising (Adrienne Rich, etc.) in Psychological (and related) research is unsettling.

✨️ Big thanks to Georgina Aiuto for calling out the framing of "Women in STEM" programs as spaces of supprt for gender diverse people: seeing gender inclusion as women-inclusion marginalises the needs of gender diverse folk and nonbinary people in particular #HERDSA2022

[Dr Amanda White @AmandasAudit]

#HERDSA2022 keynote audience Q: another audience member calls out the previous question that it is a micro-aggression. A form of institutionalized racism & offensive. She asks us - what are we doing to educate ourselves?

[Dr Amanda White @AmandasAudit]

I agree with that comment 👏👏👏 - I feel like Indigenous leaders in HE owe us nothing. We need to do the work and put in the effort and not just expect Indigenous folks in uni to service us. It was @SarahLambertOz and @johannafunk1 that helped me understand that #HERDSA2022

I am very grateful to the participants, my coauthors @veronicashenoda, and my dear colleagues who helped form me as a researcher capable of writing this piece

[Emma F. Jackson @EFJacko]

The paper I see as the heart of my thesis is now live! It has it all - thoughtful participant reflections, a process diagram, connections to Judith Butler AND Social Cognitive Theory

Shoutout to my coauthor @veronicashenoda!

[Emma F. Jackson @EFJacko]

"I can construct it my own way" investigates factors that influence our gender self-categorisations
Spoilers: knowledge about gender, a sense of self, personal attributes, and other people's perceptions are all important to enable gender self-categorisation

[Dr. Canton Winer @CantonWiner]

People on the asexuality spectrum belong at Pride—not as allies, but as full participants.

Sadly, as a researcher I’ve found that ace folks sometimes feel unwelcome at Pride.

But queerness includes asexuality. Pride is for ace spectrum folks too.

[Emma F. Jackson @EFJacko]

@n_trompeter 🥳😭🥳❤️
Sending you all of the best wishes!!

[Kate Manlik @katemanlik]

Find yourself a collaborator who’ll get matching obscure reading group tattoos with you (I love these!!) 🥛 @EFJacko

[Prof Sandy O'Sullivan @sandyosullivan]

If your response to someone disclosing they are non-binary is to ridicule them by saying that everyone feels that way, you might want to have a think about your own relationship to the gender binary.

[Prof Sandy O'Sullivan @sandyosullivan]

Just got told to not say queer on my Ally Training. Lol, okay. Apparently I can say queer studies, but not queer.

[Kate Manlik @katemanlik]

Just ten days left to submit your abstracts!!

[MacquarieUniCEH @MacquarieUniCEH]
