A Muslim woman living in Japan just admitted something most people are too afraid to say out loud.

She acknowledged that “maybe the behavior of the Muslim community in Japan is causing Islamophobia.”

She pointed to Muslims praying in public, constantly demanding special halal treatment, and other behaviors that create friction. In earlier interviews she even said her own practicing Muslim family moved back to Indonesia because of the growing pushback in Japan.

When a Muslim herself starts connecting the dots between community behavior and the reaction it creates, it’s worth listening.
