The transformation of this monument has been one of my favourites at West Norwood Cemetery. That granite plinth is just 👌

Cleaning of the Schilizzi monument was done using an ammonium poultice, revealing the texture and grain of the granite. Further works to the monument included resetting the pink granite to the vault entrance, resetting the statuary on its plinth and repointing throughout.👇

@ealingtodaycouk For example, to get from M&S to morrisons you have to either stop at 4 sets of lights to cross 1 road. For an area that benefits from people not in cars, it could really be better designed to encourage those on foot.

@ealingtodaycouk There absolutely needs to be more pedestrian space around Broadway. High Street at least is three lanes wide - one used for parking while pedestrians are having to walk in the bus lane due pavement congestion. It's a shopping area and yet pedestrians have the lowest priority.

The relay covers 47 miles along the ancient Saxon Shore Way in Kent, and the team couldn’t have asked for better weather ☀️

@MissPond Just keep trying - we tried to get some a few weeks back. Had none online Saturday afternoon/evening. I went to pharmacy Sunday (no luck), tried again online and managed to get some. We've just keep trying at random times. Sorry that's not much help - hope you get some soon

And that's 1000 miles ran this year.

The original plan was 2000km (or the distance of our 2018 New England road trip from Boston to Toronto) but after a couple of set backs, hitting 1600+ km (including 2 half marathon races) is an achievement I'll settle for.

@FidelUK @BetterEaling There are too many motor vehicles on our roads and its unsustainable. They have their place but too much space is given over to them in towns and cities and not enough space for people. If LTNs aren't part of the solution, then we need to work out what is. That's the discussion.

@SarahJ_Berry I don't often get the opportunity to cycle so jump at the chance to (any time of year). I do a run commute once a week along what would also be my cycle route but the 1 time I did cycle (half of it) was bad enough in daylight/summer. I'll keep running but no infra for safe cycle

@HealthyStHarrow @BetterEaling We need all parties to be involved in the discussion but unfortunately motorists have so much and don't seem willing to give up just a little to even the field.

It would go a long way if there was more enforcement of traffic - too many drivers on phones, illegal parking, etc...
