This morning, Dan Kidby, cofounder of Animal Rising, joined John Curtin at the high courts for the final day of his MBR Acres injunction trial. Dan attended, not only in solidarity with John and Camp Beagle, but also to refute false claims from the prosecution regarding the open rescue of 5 beagle puppies last June. 

Earlier this week, the prosecution lied to the courts, claiming that the puppies were taken unaccountably in a ‘cloak and dagger’ style action. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Honesty and accountability are at the core of Nonviolent action. They are at the core of Animal Rising. Knowing he would be named on the injunction, Dan went to the courts today to speak the truth. Again, we challenge MBR acres to bring the rescue of these beautiful puppies to a jury trial, instead of hiding behind lies and injunctions. 

What are injunctions? “Injunctions are a little-known, but often-used, way of bypassing democracy and allowing private companies to essentially buy their own laws. They’ve been used against local groups that challenged HS2, traveller communities in Wolverhampton, and now against animal lovers attempting to stop harm...” - Dan Kidby 

Injunctions are a sign of fear. A sign that the light we are shining on our broken relationship with animals is being seen by many.
