WATCH: The Parliamentary Committee on Lands, led by Ntoroko MP Edson Rugumayo, has handed over three officials and three security guards from the Mukono Zonal Land Office to authorities for allegedly removing land files from the office ahead of a scheduled inspection. The officials were questioned after several land files were found outside the office. Some were reportedly recovered from a nearby shop, while others were found in a vehicle belonging to one of the staff members. The officials gave different explanations for moving the files, raising concerns among committee members over the handling and security of land records.

Just a heads-up,the pecuniary jurisdiction for a Grade One Magistrate is up to UGX 100 million, while that of a Chief Magistrate is up to UGX 200 million Given this, there is a likelihood that matters currently before the High Court will soon be referred back to the lower courts.
