@Lord_Sugar We have no navy. One of your points was to cut military expenditure so with just one small Destroyer in service how on earth is the Royal Navy going to intercede.
Andrew Ross Sorkin gushes over Trump's new America. gov website on live TV while Joe Kernen sits there stunned.
Sorkin is not a Trump fan, and he lets that be known. But the moment he said the word "credit," Kernen nearly fell out of his chair.
SORKIN: “I want to be clear. I am actually not critical of the president in this instance at all, because I actually think it was great to bring everybody together.”
“For 29,000 websites, the ability to get a passport, the ability to get your medicare. I mean, the it was like being at a product. It was like being at an Apple product announcement. And when they went through what they did and the president was there in the morning and walked through what they were doing, and Marco Rubio was there, Scott Bessent was there, the whole cabinet was there. It was one of those moments where you actually thought the government was working for you, really? And Gebbia deserves an extraordinary amount of praise for it.”
KERNEN: “Do you feel great? Are you have the warmest fuzziest feeling right now listening.”
SORKIN: “And by the way, the president deserves credit for that."
KERNEN: "Oh my God!"
SORKIN: "Credit for putting you in that role. And Jeb and his team putting it all together.”
KERNEN: “So now I'm getting hot flashes. Wow. So this is just amazing.”
CONTEXT (What happened): Trump launched America. gov, a single government site meant to replace 29,000 federal websites for things like passports and Medicare. It was built by Airbnb co-founder Joe Gebbia, and Sorkin was in the room for the demo.
Sorkin also credited the Trump accounts interface as "really easy to use" and "like using a real app."
For the first time ever last night my wife came to me and said “we might have to get out of this country”.
It’s something I’ve been open to for a while, but she has never been keen.
However, with the recent ongoings politically and the fact we're raising children, its dawned on her that Britain might not be the place we all want to believe it is.
For me, this is a big moment that shows that what is going on is taking its toll on regular folk.
British people are getting fed up of working hard and not getting the rewards, not being treated as a priority and bring constantly told not to believe anything we read from the people that are lying to us.
Is leaving the UK something that you've considered more recently?
@ItsJamesHall@SuperbikeAl I’m getting to this point. It’s only family and schools and my child’s age keeping me here. My parents are in their 70’s. At some point the time will be right to leave. Staying here now isn’t my preference just circumstances.
‘Unlock the inherent generosity of this country.’
Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood outlines plans to offer more capped, safe and legal routes into Britain for those fleeing war and persecution.
📺 Freeview 236, Sky 512, Virgin 604
Shabana Mahmood is attempting to destroy our country, our culture, our heritage, our constitutional democracy, our society and our way of life. It is entirely deliberate. She knows precisely what she is doing.
Before the General Election I warned of the danger of Labour. Nigel Farage and the leadership of Reform didn’t simply ignore that threat, they rejected it, and Labour gained an unassailable majority.
They then said “Starmer must go”. I said “careful what you wish for, any option will be worse”. They said “He’s a disaster, read the room”. One can’t help feel they were pursuing their interests rather than the country’s.
But that’s history. We are now in a very dark place and only @RestoreBritain has the plans, the intent and the resolute and consistent determination to restore Britain.
My message to Shabana Mahmood is this:
We are full. We do not want this. We reject it. You are acting against the interests of this country, against our great nation and against the interests of the British people, and you are doing so knowingly.
This is our home. This is not a charity. This is our castle, and damn you.
A Restore Britain will revoke any ILR given to anyone who coming here under any of your subversive schemes, and we will send them back whence they came. That will be entirely on you.
Unlike you this Labour government, Restore Britain will put the British people and their interests first.
It is pretty sickening watch Shabana Mahmood roll out countless new routes for people from around the world to migrate into Britain while illegal migration is still out of control and it is crystal clear from every poll the British people want immigration reduced.
I remember when numerous people told us that Shabana Mahmood would be the best hardline Home Secretary ever.
Now she’s speeding up the demographic change of the UK by opening "legal routes" via open borders charities and NGOs.
The most treasonous Home Secretary in my lifetime.
Britain needs to SHUT its borders. Instead Shabana Mahmood is devising schemes to bring in even more people from places like Afghanistan. She is not fit for office.
Andy Burnham’s Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood has just announced a new push to bring even more migrants into Britain from Afghanistan and the Palestinian territories.
As if this weekend’s revelations about Hamas operatives in our midst wasn’t enough. Now Labour wants to mass import more people under the guise of “international obligations.”
I want to be extremely clear. Britain is not obligated to take in more migrants, and under a Reform government these people will not be able to stay.
If Labour are so sure the public wants their open borders policies, they’d call a general election to get a mandate. Without it, Andy remains unelected, and his government’s policies remain illegitimate.
Shabana Mahmood has just declared yet another new “legal route” for thousands MORE Afghans to come to Britain.
Nobody voted for this.
It is illegitimate.
Let Labour know this:
As Home Secretary I will not allow anyone brought in on this scheme to stay in Britain.
@ShabanaMahmood Reopening resettlement while housing, NHS waiting lists and social cohesion are already under strain isn’t compassion.
It’s extra pressure on people who never asked for it..
@ShabanaMahmood Far from not having a mandate for this you are actually acting against the wishes of the majority of the electorate who have voted consistently to end mass immigration.
At this point many are starting to ask do we even live in a democracy anymore. The ramifications are obvious.
