We did public school for the first several years and it was okay, but not my favorite. Now we homeschool through a parent partnership program and itโs a nice middle ground. I also have chronic health issues and Iโve found lots of ways to make it more manageable for myself. If you ever want to chat, you can message me ๐ค๐ค
@musings_blonde@audrawrongspeak Same lol! The only thing thatโs helped me is having one day a week for the big things. I have a friend whose whole method is to pick one big, medium, and small task each day that she decides on in the morning. I think thatโs a cool method too!
@ericvh6011@musings_blonde Ahhh got it! I often get the recommendation to swiffer in lieu of vacuuming/sweeping and it baffles me ๐ yes, I just bathed/blew out my chocolate lab and I told my kids that if they wanted a new dog they could make one!
I typically take my ginormous chocolate lab to the self-grooming station at our local feed store, but I thought I might try to be frugal and recreate the experience at home in our backyard. Armed with our shopvac on blower mode, the hose, a towel, soap, and a multitude of brushes, I can say that while I was successful in getting him clean, itโs still worth the $20 to do it elsewhere ๐
@musings_blonde Oh I hate it too. My kids have their daily household contribution chores but once a week I offer them a handful of paid extra chores around the house and thatโs almost always one that theyโll pick up and take care of ๐ our house is entirely hard floor so it needs doing weekly
Learned a new word, scurryfunge. It's the manic cleaning you do to frantically tidy up when unannounced guests are on their way over. Also referred to as scurfing. It popped up in America in the 1770s. I think we have all been in the midst of a major scurryfunge at some point. ๐
