@ModernWarzone - Omnimovement is a cool concept
- TTK is too high
- Movement speed is too high to track targets on MnK
- Maps are okay, but not amazing
- MWII movement and gameplay with Omnimovement would be such a W
- I can’t wait for IW’s next title
@ModernWarzone I miss early season DMZ. IW did an amazing job laying down a good foundation that was absolutely slaughtered by SHG.
Treyarch was okay. Adding BOCW weapons to Warzone is when it went off the rails.
@jeffrey_way@housecor Types force you to think about the domain and model data flow while giving you sufficient safety to know things are wired up correctly.
Tests do the same thing, but require writing code that exercises the same thing a build step might do.
Both are 100% valid preferences.
@charlieINTEL Classic minimap I can compromise on. Longer TTK is a L, slide canceling is a L, reload canceling is an L, trading Realism to bring back HC was, sadly, a L. MWII at launch needed iteration, not overhaul and we have a shell of IW’s vision that’s being dismantled by SHG.
@ModernWarzone Vondel is good, but the map design is too simplistic. We need windows on all building levels to really showcase MOUT chaos.
The health buff is a big L, especially for DMZ. They need to focus on making DMZ a slower, more tactical experience and this is a step backwards.
@Ryan_J_07@OvercomeSkillz@ModernWarzone@Testyment My opinion is that WZ1 started its downward slide around the time BOCW was released and IW lost stewardship of that piece of the game.
Setting up WZ2 to be a joint custody piece has made it incongruent with the wider MWII experience, in my opinion.
@ModernWarzone I’d love pre-Raven Software/BOCW Verdansk. Once ownership of Warzone bounced away from IW, it started feeling worse and worse and the map changes were just alright.
@JonesTheLad @WarzoneQG @RavenSoftware@Treyarch This makes sense, though, the solution to me is to disable crossplay instead. As a PC player, it's not a good feeling to be forced into playing with console players.
@TechSquidTV That’s totally possible. Including it in Pro would have been a good opportunity to increase the price of that product, too. I’m sure they discussed it and decided against it. Maybe for licensing concerns, maybe for other reasons.
Anyway, this is all speculation about the motivation for these changes based on gameplay and commentary that I've digested. I am probably wrong.
I'm, personally, very excited for a slower COD, but I won't know if it lives up to my hype until I hop in to play tomorrow!
I've read patch notes, watched footage, and listened to streamer's/YouTuber's take on the #ModernWarfareII beta weekend.
I think the Call of Duty punditry is missing the forest through the trees with MWII and Warzone 2. Below are my thoughts on why this is.
Warzone 2 is a more complicated beast with changes to loadouts, perks, loot mechanics, and inventory systems. Again, it's to de-emphasize combat and emphasize strategy and team play. It's not about getting kills, it's about positioning and deliberate movement.
