Finally, increasing MERCS in an Alzheimer's disease Drosophila model can rescue lifespan and motor phenotypes. We found that knocking down the Drosophila homologue of GET4 also results in increased MERCS, a rescue of lifespan and motor phenotypes and is neuroprotective.
