Title: TAYO AY PILIPINO (Dugo'y Maharlika)
Music & Lyrics: Mitchie Mitch Leslie
[Verse 1]
Sa dilim ng gabi, luha’y umaagos
Sa bawat tahanan, gutom ang tumutoktok
Ang mga pangako, parang alon sa dalampasigan
Naglalaho sa hangin, iniwan tayong nagdurusa’t nagdaramdam
[Pre-Chorus]
[Chorus]
Tayo ay Pilipino, dugo’y maharlika
Mapagmahal, mapagpatawad, ngunit di magpapailalim sa masama
Sa pagkakaisa, babangon muli ang bansa
Ang ating tinig, sabay-sabay isigaw —
Kalayaan, katarungan, at dangal ng ating lahi!
[Bridge]
Hawak kamay, kapatid, wag tayong bibitaw
"Pilipinas, mahal kita!"
Hanggang sa wakas, itataya ang ating dangal
Tayo ay Pilipino… magkaisa tayong lahat!

Most people think walking doesn't do much.
They're wrong.
It's one of the most underrated, accessible tools you have for optimising your health, and the effects start faster than you'd think.
Here's what happens in a single hour of walking.
Minute 2: your heart rate lifts, blood flow improves, and your cardiovascular system starts working exactly as it's designed to.
Minute 10: mood begins to shift. Endorphins rise, stress hormones start easing, and that flat, grey feeling lifts.
Minute 20: cortisol continues to fall. Each step acts like a pressure valve, releasing physical tension built up from stress.
Minute 30: your metabolism shifts towards fat as a fuel source, quiet, steady fat burning in the background.
Minute 60: brain function sharpens. Walking is linked to rising BDNF, a protein that supports the growth and survival of new brain cells.
In simple terms: walking supports cardiovascular health, helps regulate stress hormones, and boosts the neurotransmitters that drive mood and focus.
You don't need a gym or a plan. Just swap one scroll session for a brisk walk today. Your biology will thank you.

A 90-minute walk in nature reduces the kind of repetitive negative thinking that drives depression. A 2015 study in PNAS found that walking through a natural environment, compared to walking along a busy road, reduced both self-reported rumination and neural activity in the part of the brain associated with it.
The study was led by Gregory Bratman at Stanford University. He assigned 38 healthy adults to walk for 90 minutes in either a green, tree-lined area of the Stanford campus or along a loud, high-traffic road. Before and after the walk, participants reported their levels of rumination, the tendency to replay negative thoughts in a loop, and had their brains scanned.
The nature walkers showed a significant decrease in rumination and a decrease in blood flow to the subgenual prefrontal cortex, a brain region that is hyperactive during depression and anxiety. The urban walkers showed no change on either measure. The walks were the same length, the same duration, and required the same physical effort. The only difference was what the walker looked at.
Rumination is not just feeling bad. It is the specific mental pattern of going over the same negative thought again and again, and it is one of the strongest predictors of depression. The Stanford study showed that a walk through trees interrupts the loop in a way that a walk past traffic does not, and the interruption is visible on a brain scan.
The prescription is not a hike. It is not a wilderness trip. It is 90 minutes on a path with trees, and the brain treats it as medicine. The trees are doing something the road cannot, and the data says the difference shows up in the organ that needed it most. https://t.co/h3QAb5sM3d
