There have been five hate crimes perpetrated against Asian Americans in NYC alone since the coronavirus crisis began. Trump's ignorant rhetoric is dangerous because it stokes racial fear and violence. Call it out. Don't let it stand.
To stop the #coronavirus the @WHO says “wash your hands”
We can all hug with consent or fist bump instead of shaking hands, use sanitizer and soap, don’t bite nails or rub eyes, and - I cannot stress this enough - DON’T BE A F-Ing RACIST! We are ALL in this together.
@EM203Boston For your concept map, a problem related to mental illnesses is the stigma related to mental illnesses and their legitimacy which prevents people from seeking treatment. Also dementia is sometimes considered a disorder, not an illness. #EM203problems
@AltimariJason Yes! Instrumental music probably has less of an effect since you aren’t distracted by lyrics and whatever genre is easiest to tune out for the person will most likely have less interference.
Playing music while doing chores is fun, but while studying, multi-tasking might lead to less learning and more forgetting! Doing 2 cognitive tasks at once isn't recommended as one is bound to suffer in quality. #EM203Robin
@EM203ShirleyTa It was so interesting to learn about the various types of learners! Before I had only thought of the three basic types: kinesthetic, auditory, and visual but now I know of subsets and their examples like learning by doing with experiments and apprenticeships.
@EM203christinee It is both interesting and important to re-examine how we learn in this new digital age while learning about what is most effective and reflecting on our own habits. I enjoy being able to directly apply the content we learn in EM203 into our lives!
@KyleEM203 I agree! While the internet provides the temptation of unhelpful multi-tasking, it is also a treasure trove of resources like practise quizzes, interactive maps, and information that previously would have been difficult to access such as journal articles across the world.
@JacobWEM203 Education for each platform would be helpful, but unfortunately at the rate (at least in ON) that the education curriculum is updated, some platforms become obsolete in between the cycles. The toughest part would be a curriculum that keeps up with the constant changes!
@em203mjeffery I agree! Technology steadily advances but its incorporation into our education systems is lagging behind. Both increased funding to allow schools to purchase necessary equipment, and the inclusion of technology in teacher training would be helpful!
