White tigers aren’t albinos.

Their white coat is caused by a rare recessive genetic variant. A cub must inherit it from both parents for the colouring to appear, which is why the trait is so uncommon in nature.

The Moon is tidally locked to Earth, so we normally see the same hemisphere. But sunlight still reaches both sides as the Moon orbits us, meaning the far side has phases too.
