By swapping-out 70% Portland cement with EMC Volcanics, our low energy technology gets concrete to meet Net Zero Goals...
@studio_pls Thank you for re-posting this and raising awareness. It is much appreciated.
Please feel free to reach out and contact us using the contact form on the press release.
@MikeHudema@antonioguterres We agree. Funny thing is, we put a tweet out regarding our intended new plant in AMS, we copy it to a bunch of supposed climate action brethren. And the response? NADA. ZIP. ZILCH. ZERO. NOTHING. Plus, we have just a few followers.
So, what are we to conclude from that?
BREAKTHROUGH ZERO-CARBON CEMENT PLANT TO BE BUILT AT THE PORT OF AMSTERDAM.
Here is HES International's corresponding announcement:

With our partners HES International and @PortofAmsterdam, we're delighted to say we're going to develop an all-electric zero-emissions EMC plant that will see CO2 emissions cut by 1mn tonnes and use less than 10% of the energy of a Portland cement plant! https://t.co/e9ZTA21mb3

Further to our November 2023 letter to CARB (see tweet below), last week we submitted our ideas. We suggest simple and elegant modifications to give force to our proposal. To aid efficiencies, our suggestion "borrows" definitions codified in Title XVII...

We're delighted our suggestion for an innovation to @AirResources Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) has been allowed onto its public docket after its recent Community Meeting.
We hope our outreach bears fruit. You can read our letter for yourself below:

We do not edit the Wikipedia page for EMC Technology. As an exceptional "first", please see the new paragraph we've added today to explain why amorphisation has an effect on silicate-reactivity.
The ALT gives additional useful insight as to why @robbie_andrew @klimaforum_bau
@Manamind1@EnergyNewsData We think the headline is misleading, playing to a narrative that the solution is going to/must come from BigCem incumbents. We reject this. The solution is *downstream* from a clinker cement plant at the batching station. The US *concrete* sector is highly developed at batching.
@Manamind1 @bencoxworth @CCreteTech@klimaforum_bau@DarshilUShah The USPTO patent states Ca(OH)2 "...was calcined in our laboratory at 1000℃ for 1012 hours" to make the CaO. It asserts a "reduced CO2 footprint"
So, the CO2 output is admitted. The 1012 hours must be an error. How was this not seen by the examiner?
https://t.co/MpViM2pJKM
@Manamind1 @bencoxworth @CCreteTech@klimaforum_bau@DarshilUShah No idea. We'd urge caution. Its most recent patent we can find is a USPTO grant residing in Class C fly ash, a *reduced* Na2O amount, and as you say, CaO. There are many such compositional patents for fly ash.
Further, EPDs are a "leveller" and increasingly a U.S. *requirement*!
@Manamind1 @robbie_andrew @gcarbonproject We were so pleased to read this that we have made our own Tweet just now.
Once again, a big thank you to Robbie Andrew!
We sincerely thank @robbie_andrew of @CICERO_klima for an entire slide about EMC Volcanics in the deck that goes with their dataset (https://t.co/Gq4TkxWN9M), which informs both the @IPCC & @UNFCCC.
So we hope this puts us onto the UN's "level" of RADAR!
https://t.co/uNa995Iker
For COP 28, the UNFCCC asks "How do we get back on track?" Its new report collates many stakeholder viewpoints. We support its most simple call per ¶108, namely to "Encourage the development and deployment of cleantech on a large scale".

@Manamind1@KathyHochul@klimaforum_bau@DarshilUShah Yes. We saw that. More aggressive than Calgreen but still room to raise ambition. In such regards, we agree with the comments in the final paragraph made by Lionel Lemay, @nrmca's EVP sustainability.
If Art.6(4) is to "incentivize & facilitate participation" in mitigating CO2, we share the World Bank's concerns over market liquidity. To boost their own holdings, we also worry host states may cancel projects, crippling private project holders such as us
