This is just how STUPID Trump is.
If he imposes tariffs on imports the US gets Denmark, Americans will pay for his idiocy.
Hint: Trump puts tariffs on countries. Americans PAY extra for the inane trade wars.
The US imports these products from Denmark:
Pharmaceuticals:
- Medications and biotechnology products, particularly insulin and other treatments for chronic diseases
Machinery and Equipment:
- Industrial machinery, including turbines and components for wind energy (Trump hates wind energy)
Food Products:
- Pork and dairy products (e.g., specialty cheeses).
- Fish and seafood, including salmon and mackerel
Medical Equipment:
- Hearing aids, dental equipment, and other advanced healthcare devices
Beverages:
- Specialty beers and alcoholic beverages (e.g., Carlsberg beer)
Furniture and Design Goods:
- High-quality furniture and design products from renowned Danish brands
Specialty Chemicals:
- Enzymes and other chemicals used in food production and industrial processes
@RpsAgainstTrump The Greenland claim is an issue of :
-sovereignty and international law
- NATO cohesion
-precedent-setting visavi Russia and China
- and a matter of diplomacy and solidarity.
Danish soldiers in recent years served - and died- at the side of US forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The US has an airbase in Greenland and has had for over 70 years (Thule Airbase, or Pituffik Space Base).
I find it unimaginable that Denmark is going to allow America to keep that base, given their are making threats against Greenland and the base could be used as a staging point for any military aggression.
I think it's high time the base be shut down, - or an ironclad guarantee be given otherwise that America will NEVER try to gram Danish Greenland territory, but will FOREVER respect Greenland's sovereign borders
@RpsAgainstTrump Putin’s #1 goal is decoupling America from NATO. Trump hasn’t even taken office and he’s already doing Putin’s bidding by threatening a NATO ally with economic sanctions if they don’t surrender territory.
BREAKING:
Danish PM Mette Frederiksen says Trump hasn't withdrawn his threats against Denmark over Greenland and that "it's a serious situation" following a 45 minute phone call with the president-elect today.
"The Americans have suggested that, unfortunately, there could be a situation where we cooperate less than we do today. That is not something we are seeking in any way. We only get stronger when we work together and we don't want any conflict with the Americans"

When I was 25 years old, as a plane captain, I was responsible for signing off on the readiness of a $60 million dollar F-14 Fighter Jet each time it flew.
When I strapped in the aircrew and ran them through the final checks before the launch, if the jet crashed because of something that I said was "okay," that wasn't okay, they weren't calling President Clinton...they were coming for me. That jet was my responsibility.
Investigating, charging, prosecuting, and convicting Donald Trump and other planners of J6 was the responsibility of Merrick Garland.
It was not the responsibility of SCOTUS to investigate, charge, prosecute, and convict Trump and the planners. It's NOT the fault of SCOTUS that Trump was not convicted.
It was the job of the United States AG to figure it the fuck out and to act urgently and aggressively, knowing full well that SCOTUS-for the most part- wasn't going to be an asset to him in bringing Trump to justice.
When you're the person in charge, when things go to shit...the failure belongs to you. It's not Jack Smith's fault. It's not some secretary's fault. It's not the fault of the guy in the the mailroom, and it sure as hell...isn't the fault of SCOTUS.
Did SCOTUS complicate the issue? Certainly, but it was never their responsibility to find a way to hold Trump accountable for his crimes. That responsibility rested with one man: Merrick Garland. Merrick Garland failed.
Four years ago, in the middle of a pandemic, we needed a leader with the character to put politics aside and do what was right. That’s what @JoeBiden did.
At a time when our economy was reeling, he drove what would become the world’s strongest recovery – with 17 million new jobs, historic wage gains, and lower health care costs. He passed landmark legislation to rebuild our nation’s infrastructure and address the threat of climate change.
I’m grateful to Joe for his leadership, his friendship, and his lifetime of service to this country we love.
So, Arkansas is about to censure college professors after spending two years purging k-12 school curriculum.
I’m curious, how does this lower the price of eggs?
It’s unreasonable that the House refuses to make any accommodations for people who are pregnant and welcoming a new child.
I shouldn’t be prevented from voting just because I’m having a baby.

15 House Repubs have proxy voted at least 100 times in the last few years.
But Mike Johnson won't let Dem Rep. Brittany Pettersen to do it.
She's pregnant & too close to her due date to fly to DC.
Force women to give birth, but don't let them vote.

my hot take today is that homework is classist. everybody doesnt have a conducive home environment to study in, some of us had to work after school, everybody didnt have a tutor they could pass stuff off on. homework only exists to prep the worker for a life of unpaid overtime
Your disbelief that Trump will actually do the illegal things he says he’s going to do does not surprise me.
It was the prevailing wisdom in Germany too, right up to about 30 days after Hitler’s inauguration.
Then they found out.
