@anon_opin That become normalised long before then as the winter of 07/08 was the first winter with the smoking ban. I remember it being dark, freezing, raining and stood outside with gangs of people.
@RolandOrzabal_ Head Over Heels. It’s strange enough to be different but catchy enough to be pop (for wont of a better word). Real great song. Thank you.
@CinemaTweets1@georgiem2000 I’m new to this backroom thing but have caught up with the Youtube video’s. Is the film any good? The Youtube stuff isn't scary but has a vibe, I’m wondering how that vibe translates.
@mr_milton75@anon_opin It’s from the album ‘As Is Now’ which is a decent record aside from when he smashes out the seven minute long, two-part non-funk funk odyssey at the end. He’s someone that needs a producer to say, ‘no! Paul. Ten tracks is enough.’
@batcountry1980@IsaaicBackes Gunn’s was okay. It resembled an actual comic book, whereas Marvel films always look colourless, robbing them of any excitement. Still, that second season of Peacemaker was woeful which makes me hesitant for the upcoming films and series (Green lantern with no green).
@batcountry1980@IsaaicBackes She needs to watch Aliens and Abyss for the full James Cameron experience. Man of Steel has a great villain but is too long. Gunn’s Superman is also okay but what’s the deal with Superdog? It’s a main plot point in both Superman and Supergirl.
@esjesjesj In the Iliad, Achilles is portrayed as a petty teenager who also happens to be a demigod and the world's most formidable warrior. Pitt captured the petulance but nothing else. Dead-eyed and dull, he might look the part, but the performance is terrible.
@danieljohnclark@JosephKahn I’m English and worked at Virgin Megastore in the Jam Factory around 2003/04. I saw the Matrix Sequels and Return of the King at that cinema. I offered staff discount for free tickets. The sandwich shop got the same deal for sandwiches. Waterstones didn’t because they’re dicks.
@CinemaTweets1 For me, Bone Temple creeps ahead. It’s a brilliant example of a character’s history being established through performance rather than (potentially long-winded) dialogue. Bone Temple is better than it has any right to be, and Fiennes gives it that lift to classic.
@batcountry1980@kennylanglea I’ve always thought that Terminator has the slight edge! Very slight. But it’s like Sophie’s Choice picking between those films.
@bdjmack72@nee_massey@MartinRossiter It really is! ‘Drop Anchor’ is a breathlessly amazing song. I’m hoping that some movie or TV show will pick it up, and that the wider world gets to hear that song.
@batcountry1980@thefurlinator I worked with the head of Michael Jackson’s UK fan club. Even though he cosplayed as Jackson, we just thought he was a fan until he disappeared the day Jackson died, and we saw him on the news channels. Yet, he knew nothing about any other music. Nothing! It was mind-blowing.
@deesnider Lynyrd Skynyrd should have quit in ‘77, but they kept going, and going, until no one was left. And then, they still keep going. Sometimes, you have to call it a day.
@JosephKahn This is a brilliant analysis and sadly, true. I grew up with the Native Tongues collective, a group of highly skilled rappers making hip-hop that comfortably crossed over into the mainstream while maintaining a political ideology. But, it
became angry, and people were shut out.
