Still on my journey to a faraway land. ✈️
Port Harcourt, Nigeria, here I come!
The flight was quite bumpy with all that turbulence.
Omo, I had to hold myself. Have you ever taken a night flight? 👀
Every Tuesday at six, Mateo took the same seat in the old city library in Seville, the one by the window with the crooked lamp. And every Tuesday at six, he found a book already waiting on the table, left open and face down, as if someone had just stepped away.
It was never the same book. One week it was poetry, the next a travel diary, then a cookbook with a coffee stain on the cover. In the margins, someone had written small notes in blue ink. “Read this slowly. The ending is wrong, but I forgive it. Do you ever feel like the world is too loud?”
Mateo never saw who left them. He only knew that by Tuesday evening, he was always smiling.
One week, he brought a pen. Beneath the blue handwriting, he wrote:, “Yes. Every day. Except here.”
The next Tuesday, the book was different, and below his words was a reply. Then we should both keep coming.
So they did. For months, they spoke only through margins. She wrote about her grandmother's garden in Lisbon. He wrote about the father he was still learning to forgive. She admitted she was afraid of lifts. He admitted he sang badly in the shower and refused to stop.
Neither asked for a name. Neither asked for a face. It felt like asking would break something fragile and perfect.
Then, one Tuesday in winter, the book was waiting, but the last page held only a single line. I move to Lisbon on Friday. I wanted you to know before I left.
Mateo read it three times. Then he did something he had never done. He walked to the front desk and asked the librarian a question.
"The woman who leaves the books," he said. "Does she ever stay?"
The librarian smiled. "She sits at the last table by the door, every Tuesday. She watches you read. She has been too shy to speak."
Mateo turned. At the far table sat a woman with a blue pen in her hand and a face that looked like someone who had been holding her breath for a year.
He walked across the quiet room, sat down opposite her, and said the only thing that made sense.
"Your handwriting is better than your hiding."
She laughed, and the whole library seemed to exhale.
Her name was Inês. She did move to Lisbon that Friday, and Mateo went with her. Years later, in a small house with a garden, there was a shelf of old books with blue and black ink in every margin.
And every Tuesday at six, whoever was home would leave a book open on the table for the other to find.
Dr Amelia did a surgery on her daughter and it had an adverse effect which made the child loose Al body mobility. Without the surgery the child wouldn't have survived, so this was the only chance they could take.

We started dating when we were both struggling. We dreamed of building a home together and promised never to abandon each other.
But when his business became successful, he began hiding me from his friends.
One day, he told me, “I need someone who matches my new lifestyle.
I smiled, packed my belongings, and left without arguing.
He thought poverty made me unworthy. He never understood that my love had been genuine even when my pockets were empty.
