Deka Chambers is delighted to announce that the King has appointed @EMawrey and @JennieOborne as Recorders on the advice of the Lord Chancellor, the Right Honourable Shabana Mahmood MP and the Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, the Right Honourable the Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill.

Their appointments will take effect from 18th November 2024 and they will be deployed to sit in Crime on the South Eastern Circuit.

Everyone at Deka congratulates them both on their appointments.

The causes of gang violence are complex and blights many young lives and those in the communities in which they live. Thankfully on this occasion no one got hurt but as the judge remarked, it was only by reason of good fortune that no one was struck by the bullets.
