Since the fall of Assad in late 2024, Syria’s transition has devolved into targeted sexual violence and sectarian cleansing.
Alawite, Druze, and Christian women and girls have been systematically targeted through abductions, rape, forced marriage, and disappearance.
Regime forces and affiliated militias are implicated, while Western and regional powers have granted de facto impunity. The evidence is overwhelming.
This brief by @SallyObeid calls for an international tribunal, conditional aid tied to minority protections, and monitored safe zones.

The children are in Hmeimim airport advocating for peace for the rest of Syria.
This shows the honourable spirit of Alawites. These are the echoes of Alawites. 😢
Our government is lying to you about Syria so they can unlock billions in “reconstruction” funding and quietly siphon money through the same corrupt channels. That is why they do not blink when an Al-Qaeda leader consolidates power or when Christians are slaughtered in their homes. It is not about stability or peace, it is about profit.
What comes next is predictable. This kind of greed turns Syria into another Afghanistan, wipes out minorities, and leaves terrorists stronger and better positioned to harm us. This is not complicated. Doing the right thing would mean confronting the threat head on. Instead, too many are willing to cash in today and deal with the consequences tomorrow.
Syrian Christians have been reduced from over 2 million to barely 300,000. Now they are under attack again.
As we will soon enter the Holy Week, the very communities that have kept the faith alive for 2,000 years are facing violence, fear, and extinction.
Pray for Syria’s Christians, but don’t stop there. Speak about it. Share it. The silence of the world is part of the tragedy.
🇸🇾 #Syria: Syrian security forces (HTS) have set up ethnic-based checkpoints on the Afrin–Aleppo road, where civilians are being stopped and beaten for being Kurdish.
Incidents are also being reported in Afrin, Tal Rifaat and Al-Bab, where Kurds celebrating Newroz are being targeted.
Videos show people dragged out of vehicles, assaulted, with Kurdish flags confiscated and burned. Several vehicles and motorcycles have also been set on fire.
Footage further shows mobs and armed groups gathering and moving toward Sheikh Maqsoud in Aleppo.

Jableh: Alawite Families Mark First Anniversary of Al-Sanobar Massacre, One of the Bloodiest Sites of the Genocide
Alawite families gathered in Jableh to visit the graves of victims massacred in Al-Sanobar, one of the bloodiest sites of the ongoing genocide along the Syrian coast.
The commemoration marks one year since the killings, which form part of a broader campaign of ethnic cleansing targeting Alawite communities in the region.
The UN hosts all countries and we still have not yet seen anyone been held accountable in the syrian Alawite massacre one year ago.
Ex terrorist-present interrim president of Syria gave the okay to genocide Alawites in the coastal region. Alawites will never forget the genocide that had happend and are still living in fear that any day this could happen again as there was no punishments to the perpatrators of the genocide.

“What if you gave her the right to live?”
Baby girl Qamar Yazan Khalil, March 8, 2025
By God, whoever is capable of such a crime should not be classified among human beings. How can a living creature enter a home and kill an infant in cold blood — he didn’t bomb her from a plane, he didn’t shell her with artillery, he walked into the home, looked her in the eyes, and killed her.
In stories, novels, and international films, they say that killing an infant is something even the most bloodthirsty and criminal serial killers cannot bring themselves to do. But the real catastrophe is not just that those who rule Syria today entered Alawite homes and directly killed dozens of infants — the true disaster, and I say this while in my darkest state of pessimism, is that the vast majority of those who support the terrorist Jolani regime actively approve of such crimes.
A decade of time and enormous sums of money were allocated by Qatar and Saudi Arabia — through media, culture, and religion — to ideologically condition the “majority sect” of Arabs into accepting the idea that killing an Alawite infant girl is somehow legitimate. Even today, knowing full well that those being killed are innocent Alawite civilians, they still call them “regime remnants.”
What if you had given this child the right to live? She could have grown up not bound to her family’s sect. She could have chosen Sunni Islam as her own faith. She is still an infant who cannot speak or choose — she is simply a child.
By God, if I were ever placed before humanity in a test and forced to choose between killing an infant of any sect, religion, or ethnicity, or killing myself — I would not hesitate. I would kill myself.

The photo of the child is in the comments.
We remember our friends, family and loved ones who were massacred by the hordes of jihadi terrorist of Jolani's regime.
Their only crime was being Alawite and Christian.
The world shamelessly watched in silence as entire families were murdered in cold blood.
Peace to our martyrs

I think you are obfuscating a few relevant points here. There are several very good reasons for Iranian hesitancy over signing a mutual defence pact with Russia. 1. Russia looked at it as an opportunity to bring Iranians into the war against Ukraine which Iran was understandably not in agreement with. Despite this Iran supplied the drones that Russia needed and shared technology while Russia has not shared technology in return. 2. Russia had a deconfliction agreement with Israel in Syria (it went far further than that) which mean't it looked the other way when Israel murdered Iranian military advisors across Syria on a regular basis and bombed the Embassy in Damascus shortly before the fall of Syria. 3. Russia was among the first to normalise with Al Qaeda Al Jolani regime.. and we have since seen sickening scenes of Jolani being embraced by the Kremlin in the interests of Russia maintaining bases in Syria which are essential to maintain various regional agendas including their interests in Africa. 4. How dare you blame Iran for the fall of Syria - it was Putin who ultimately refused access for the incoming Iranian reinforcements promised safe landing at Hmeimim - they were then told by US that they would be shot down over Iraq. IRGC forces met Russian forces running back to Hmemim on the first day of the attacks on Aleppo. There is so much more I could add but your analysis is a jingoistic attempt to whitewash the lack of trust of Russia in this region, with good reason. Iran is fighting this war alone essentially, any help or equipment is paid for, it was not given in some ideological tryst. Russia is far more an ally of Israel than of Iran and Iran is well aware of that fact.
The “Hizb Al Tahrir” ISIS Wahhabi simps, like @DillyHussain88 and @mohammed_hijab destroyed my country for Israel on the premise that “if Muslim Wahhabi take over the Middle East then they will fight israel”.
Here we are now, the Shia Muslims of Iran is fighting Israel and their AlQaeda leader Jolani is playing basketball with centcom while letting Israel take over south Syria.
Their religion is a lie.
Their life is a lie.
Their movement is a failure.
How do they continue to exist with such cognitive dissonance?
We will not forgive. We will not forget.
After the sectarian dismissal decision affecting 118 Alawite doctors in Latakia Governorate, the Latakia Health Directorate has issued a circular opening the door for contracting with the Latakia Health Directorate for those who have a "revolutionary background"—in other words, for those belonging to the Sunni sect.
They justified the decision by "addressing the situations of those dismissed from work due to their revolutionary participation," but this excuse is mere fraud. The previous regime, despite its flaws, did not issue dismissal decisions affecting hundreds of employees on a periodic and weekly basis on political or sectarian grounds. Dismissal cases were limited to specific individuals and were not in the form of collective punishment.
In every state sector where employees were dismissed in the governorates of Tartus and Latakia, they were replaced by employees from Idlib, Aleppo, Homs, and elsewhere.
Just when #Syria needs more doctors, the new government is firing many of its best qualified medical professionals.
These are not war criminals; these are not remnants of the old regime. These are professional Syrians who happen to have the wrong religion.
Statement from the Syrian Democratic Forces #SDF regarding violations of the ceasefire agreement in the #Jazira region and #Kobani
Despite the ceasefire agreement entering into force yesterday evening, Damascus-affiliated factions continue to commit serious and repeated violations against populated areas in the Jazira and Kobani regions, in a clear and explicit breach of the agreement’s terms and a direct threat to civilian safety and regional stability.
📌 At exactly 10:00 a.m., #Damascus factions launched an armored attack on the axis of the town of al-Jalabiyah, southeast of Kobani. The attack was repelled.
📌 From 12:00 p.m. until the time of issuing this statement, these factions have continued their attacks on the western countryside of Kobani, targeting the villages of Zêrk and al-Qasimiya.
📌 At 6:00 p.m., the factions’ artillery shelled the village of al-Qasimiya, resulting in the martyrdom of a child and the injury of three others from the same family.
📌 At 7:30 p.m., Damascus factions launched an attack using three suicide drones on the village of Qirî, Karkê Lêgê, causing material damage.
📌 At 10:40 p.m., the same factions targeted the village of al-Safa in the countryside of Jal Agha / al-Jawadiyah, also causing material damage.
📌 As of the time of issuing this statement, these factions continue their attacks on the southern and western axes of Kobani, in an ongoing violation of the ceasefire agreement and a dangerous escalation that puts civilian lives at risk.
During these attacks, four of our fighters were wounded, in addition to the martyrdom of a child and the injury of three others from the same family.
We call on the guarantor parties of the ceasefire agreement to assume their full responsibilities to put an end to these violations, compel Damascus factions to fully adhere to the agreement, and ensure the protection of civilians without delay or negligence.

“Who remembers this terrorist who came out of a dark room during the first Sahil events? He basically objected to the massacres and kidnappings, and then they said he was kidnapped.”
Isn't this guy the same person who attacked Alawite villages, regretted it after and made an apology video saying he didn't know Syrian fighters were this psychotic?
