@DailyMonitor The tragedy: we aren’t doing enough to understand our situation. Complexity engulfs Africa more than any other human ecosystem. On the day of the economics Nobel, we must ponder how to understand our ecosystem.

@johnboscokisitu It’s transport. It’s sociology. It’s economics and finance. It’s policy. It’s politics. And all plead with physics for answers. This is one of the most cognitively rich clips I have encountered on this platform. @EPRC_official
OFFICIAL LAUNCH OF THE AFRICA CREDIT RATING AGENCY (AFCRA)
Minister of State for Planning @AmosLugoloobi represented President @KagutaMuseveni
at the official launch of the Africa Credit Rating Agency (AFCRA) at the InterContinental Mauritius Resort Balaclava Fort, Republic of Mauritius.
The establishment of AfCRA represents a significant milestone in Africa's efforts to strengthen its financial architecture and promote a more informed, credible and continent-focused approach to credit ratings.
The initiative supports the broader African Union objective of addressing challenges associated with sovereign and corporate credit ratings and improving access to sustainable sources of capital. It's strategic initiative for Africa's financial and economic development.
It should be noted that, for decades, the methodologies employed by major global credit rating agencies have met with limitations in fully capturing the realities of African economies.
The event brought together senior government officials, policymakers, financial institutions, investors, credit rating professionals, development partners and other key stakeholders from Africa and beyond.
The African Credit Rating Agency reaffirms the collective resolve to build African institutions. The AfCRA is therefore expected to address the existing gap through accurate, fair and context-sensitive credit assessments. The Agency will leverage in-depth regional knowledge, cultural understanding and data-driven analysis.

Every girl deserves to learn with dignity.
Together with @reachahand, we are bringing 300+ students from 20 schools in Kasese district to participate in the "It's brave girls: undo the taboo" festival as part of the world menstrual hygiene celebrations.
Over the past 2 years, our efforts across the regions have:
✅ Sensitised more than 45,000 adolescents on menstrual health and hygiene
✅ Provided close to 35,000 girls with sanitary pads
✅ Reached almost 30,000 secondary school girls and about 5,500 girls in communities
These numbers represent girls attending class with confidence, speaking openly about menstrual health and accessing what they need to thrive.
As we continue to challenge harmful myths and break the silence surrounding menstruation, we invite you to be part of the conversation.

Uganda has met two of three 95–95–95 HIV testing, treatment and viral suppression targets. The latest results from the 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 Uganda population-based HIV Impact Assessmentsuggest that about 220,000 adults with HIV don't know their status. Overall, the prevalence has stagnated at 5.5% among ages 15-49 since 2020, this suggests that treatment is working, but new infections persist. New Staff Alert: Meet Susanna Janson Landin, our new Program Officer for Health and SRHR 🇸🇪🇺🇬
Before joining the Embassy of Sweden in Uganda, she worked on human rights and democracy issues at the Unit for Latin America and previously supported Sweden's embassies across Africa on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).
Although Uganda was new to her, she had heard many positive stories about the 'Pearl of Africa' and its friendly people. Arriving in Kampala, she was initially struck by the city's energy and busy traffic, but after just two weeks she already feels at home. She loves how green and lush the city is and has been inspired by the warmth and hospitality she has experienced.
She is especially excited to work with partners advancing health and SRHR in Uganda and looks forward to contributing to improved outcomes for women, girls and young people.
Welcome to the team! 🇸🇪🤝🇺🇬
