Did you know Adam Driver (Kylo Ren himself) was a real Marine?

Right after 9/11 he enlisted at 18. He wanted the hardest branch. Ended up as an 81mm mortar man with Weapons Company, 1st Battalion, 1st Marines at Camp Pendleton. Made it to Lance Corporal.

Just before his unit shipped to Iraq he broke his sternum mountain biking. The injury got worse on a forced march and he was medically discharged in 2004. He’s said it crushed him not going with his guys.

That Marine discipline stuck with him all the way through Juilliard and every role since. He even started Arts in the Armed Forces to bring theater to troops.
