Let me trace the timeline here because nobody's connecting it.
Step 1: Scrape the entire internet. Every book, every article, every conversation, every piece of art, every forum post. Do it without asking. Do it without paying.
Step 2: Train a model on all of it. Call it "artificial intelligence."
Step 3: Go to BlackRock's Infrastructure Summit and announce: "We see a future where intelligence is a utility, like electricity or water, and people buy it from us on a meter."
Step 3 is where you sell people's own knowledge back to them. On a meter.
They took the collective output of human thought, compressed it into a model, and now they want to charge you by the token to access a version of what you and everyone you know already created.
One Reddit user put it perfectly: "They stole all this data from us, the people, our life's work, creativity, art, by devouring the internet and blowing through all copyright laws. Now they want to sell it back to us in the form of a utility."
Imagine if someone photocopied every book in the public library, burned the library down, and then opened a subscription service for the copies.
That's the metered intelligence business model.
And they're pitching it to infrastructure investors as though they invented water.
If I have to pay $7.99 to rent a 30 year-old movie off Amazon when I have a Prime subscription, then we should just reopen Blockbuster. I’d rather have their employees judge my life choices.
I don't know who still needs to hear this, but Donald Trump is intentionally leading the world to a devastating global recession that will last a decade minimum, all the while gaslighting the American people, while manipulating world markets and profiting off the outcomes.
It really is as simple as that.
Canadians wondering why food inflation is still 6.2%?
The problem is right below 👇
An oligopoly of three major grocery chains with virtually no real competition.
They monopolize shopping plazas, lock out competitors with predatory lease rules, and control pricing from farm to checkout.
This isn’t inflation — it’s market power.
“In Ontario, we have 250,000 people waiting on a surgery list..” so why isn’t healthcare a bigger election issue? @ScottMillerCTV @CTVNews https://t.co/bDNeSgthFb
The Loblaw grocery chain overcharged customers by selling underweighted meat across 80 stores for an undisclosed period that ended in December 2023, a CBC News investigation has found. https://t.co/2Xulchv0Ki
.@fordnation spending nearly a billion for a parking garage and tree clearing to realize only $1.1 billion in revenues over *95 years* from @ThermeCanada. He's clearing an Ontario Place urban forest for lemonade stand money. The stupidity of "fiscal conservatives" strikes again.
Reminder that the green 400-series highway running parallel to the red 401, about 8km to the north, was sold off by the previous @OntarioPCParty government for $3.1B in 1999, and that the current government would rather throw $150B in a hole than address that mistake.
AWESOME: Ontario’s 5 largest healthcare unions have joined forces to warn the public that the Ontario government is intentionally manufacturing our current massive healthcare crisis…to justify privatization.
Who else agrees with them? ✋🏾
One of great failings of media is not explaining how inflation is a GLOBAL problem. They also didn’t explain how we’re in one of great price gouging eras of our time. These corporations are playing everybody and engaging in unprecedented markups for profit.
The Doug Ford government really has been using the vaccine rollout as a political opportunity to let Shoppers’ Drug Mart try to privatize more of our healthcare system.
The beauty of Latin artists / music,
they / it never gets old to us. Our greats are handed down for generations in our households. We hold them to the highest & never stop listening to them! Tito was 1 of those artists. Man this 1 is tough...#TitoRojas
NYC is taking after Portland - a trans femme protestor was pulled into an unmarked van at the Abolition Park protest - this was at 2nd Ave and 25th Street
