We deplore the attack on the Lebanese Civil Defense center in Doures village, Baalbek district, in which at least 12 paramedics were killed. The centre has been massively damaged.
Attacks on health care are becoming the new normal in conflicts. This must stop — everywhere!
Civilians in North #Gaza are starving while the world watches on.
Palestinians have been left without the essentials to survive.
@JoyceMsuya calls for an immediate end to the assault on civilians.⬇️
Shortly after the @WHO-led mission to Kamal Adwan Hospital yesterday, the facility's third floor was reportedly hit again, injuring six children who are patients there. One child sustained a critical injury. Water tanks were damaged. Heavy bombardment persisted very close to the hospital, including when WHO was delivering aid.
It is appalling that hospitals in #Gaza continue to be attacked, patients continue to be harmed, and health workers and humanitarians continue to work under life-threatening conditions.
CripAntiquity calling for papers for a hybrid conference for July of 2025! This conference is looking to examine disability in Greek and Latin literature, art, & archaeology in the ancient world, experiences of disabled scholars today, and reception studies of ancient disability.
We have received an extremely concerning report that the Sheikh Radwan primary health care centre in northern #Gaza was struck today while parents were bringing their children to the life-saving #polio vaccination in an area where a humanitarian pause was agreed to allow vaccination to proceed. Six people, including four children, were injured.
A @WHO team was at the site just before. This attack, during humanitarian pause, jeopardises the sanctity of health protection for children and may deter parents from bringing their children for vaccination.
These vital humanitarian-area-specific pauses must be absolutely respected. Ceasefire!
