MN DOC honored our detainer for Jose Chavarria-Cruz, an illegal alien from Mexico, convicted of murder for gang benefit, preventing him from reentering our communities. This is a great example of how agency cooperation increases public safety and helps keep our communities safe.
Sanctuary politicians are choosing criminal illegal aliens over public safety by denying undercover license plates and access to driver and vehicle registration information for ICE and CBP.
This reckless policy choice impacts our efforts to investigate cases including:
• Child exploitation
• Rape & kidnapping
• Drug and weapons trafficking
• Sex and forced labor trafficking
• Transnational criminal organizations
Thank you @TheJusticeDept for taking action.
"There isn't one single law enforcement agent or officer out there that doesn't have family that loves them... They want them to come home, but they also know that the duty that they swore to do was to make sure that everybody else gets home first." @SecMullinDHS

To every officer who puts on the badge each day: THANK YOU.

Mexican criminal alien Raul Torres Olivares smashed his vehicle into an ICE vehicle before trying, and failing, to flee on foot from our officers in Sioux City, IA.
In addition to his pending felony charges for forgery and 2023 order of removal, ICE is pursuing felony criminal charges for illegal re-entry of an aggravated felon and for assaulting, resisting or impeding officers.
During a targeted enforcement operation in Minnesota on December 10, ICE officers attempted to apprehend Jozias Natanael Carmona-Pena, a known criminal illegal alien with pending felony charges for lewd and lascivious acts with a child. This vicious criminal illegal alien was released into the community after local law enforcement denied ICE’s request to take him into custody. Carmona-Pena was issued a final order of removal in 2023.
During the operation, radical agitators swarmed federal law enforcement and obstructed their attempts to arrest this criminal illegal alien pedophile. A U.S. citizen then rammed into an ICE vehicle with his car.
The Burnsville Police Department responded and provided assistance. Thanks to the interference of the agitators, ICE was unable to locate and arrest this criminal illegal alien pedophile. On December 27, ICE finally arrested this child predator, and he remains in custody pending removal.
Unfortunately for the media, we have the receipts.
As shown in our video, Aliya Rahman clearly had enough room to move herself and her vehicle out of the way. Officers even walked away from her vehicle, thinking she was going to leave the scene. Instead, she remained at the location, continued to impede our officers, and found out the hard way.
18 U.S.C. § 111 criminalizes impeding or interfering with federal officers.
The @nytimes should be embarrassed with this attempt to smear DHS law enforcement.
ICE does not conduct enforcement at hospitals—period. We would only go into a hospital if there were an active danger to public safety. If anyone is impeding Minnesotans from making appointments or picking up prescriptions, its violent agitators who are blocking roadways.
Furthermore, pregnancy in ICE detention is exceedingly rare—making up 0.133% of all illegal aliens in custody. Pregnant women receive regular prenatal visits, mental health services, nutritional support, and accommodations aligned with community standards of care. This is the best healthcare many of these individuals have received in their entire lives.
MORE AGITATORS ARRESTED IN MINNEAPOLIS.
Violent agitators will not stop DHS law enforcement from conducting immigration enforcement.
@ICEgov and @CBP are taking rapists, murderers, drug dealers, and other predators out of our communities. Agitators are ruining their lives to defend CRIMINALS.
Do not engage in criminal conduct. Do not assault our law enforcement officers. We will prosecute you to the maximum extent of the law.
.@RealTomHoman on ICE's ongoing efforts in Minnesota:
“We currently have an unprecedented number of counties communicating with us now and allowing ICE to take custody of illegal aliens before they hit the streets — unprecedented cooperation.
This is efficient and requires only 1-2 officers to assume custody of a criminal alien target rather than 8-10 officers going into the community and arresting that public safety threat.”

ICE officers in Minneapolis arrested Karla Peralta-Rodriguez, a priority target and criminal illegal alien from Mexico, during a targeted enforcement operation.
EXCLUSIVE: ICE in Minneapolis arrested Juan Antonio Tellez-Cruz, an illegal alien from Mexico and a "self-admitted Latin Kings gang member" on Jan. 25.
He illegally entered the U.S. on Oct. 11, 2023, under the Biden administration. He was released instead of being detained.
According to ICE, he initially attempted to flee with his wife and two children in the vehicle. When ICE stopped him, he threatened their lives and tried to bribe them into letting him go.
"Tellez-Cruz put his two kids in mortal danger by recklessly trying to flee — he could’ve killed his own family, my officers, and any number of innocent bystanders,” said ICE Director Todd M. Lyons. “When the officers stopped him again, he threatened to call other gang members and have them killed. Obviously that didn’t work, so he offered them $10,000 in cash and said he’d provide information on about 70 other illegal aliens. He did all this in front of his young, impressionable children.”
.@RealTomHoman explains the importance behind ICE's immigration detainers in one simple sentence:
"What could have been done with one person in the safety and security of a jail ... now we've got 15-16 people out there [detaining a criminal illegal alien]."
