Feel free to follow @thedrive_sa for access to pretty cool (if I do say), Instagram-formatted car reviews. There's one up by @SpikeTheCarGuy on the #Audi Q8 45 TDI quattro as we speak
Day 1: It’s big, and it gets a lot of attention. @audisouthafrica Q8 mashes a coupé shape with SUV size, and layers that with a fair dose of luxury. Driving the 45 TDI - mostly around town, with a chance of dirt…

Day 1: Incessant bloody rain and wet roads aren’t the best conditions in which to test a car, but we’ll see what we can get out of the @audisouthafrica A6 Sedan. Driving the 40TDI S line version, with a few interior and exterior add-ons.

We drive the @BMW_SA X5 M50i! Power, performance and prestige… And a surprising ability to change minds.

Had a fun morning in the dirt with the @mitsu_motors#Pajero Sport. Reconfirmed for me just how capable this thing is - not a single stutter or hesitation on some pretty rough obstacles*.
*water splash not a rough obstacle.
Full review coming to @ESDRepeat soon!
Day 2: @audisouthafrica A7 Sportback: is the styling less polarising because we’re used to it? Super-slim LED lights, 20” wheels and S Line spec add edginess, but the coupé shape still gives it the right amount of curves.

What you’re looking at here is a first reveal the all-electric SUV that @Subaru_SA is planning. Based on a platform shared with Toyota, it’s scheduled for Europe in “the first half of the 2020’s”.
More details in 2021.

Day 1: Delayed gratification… Finally got my hands on the @audisouthafrica A7 Sportback. Had the previous gen as a one year long-term drive; was good, but had its shortcomings. Looking forward to seeing how it’s been improved.

Day 5: Doesn't deliver pure driving joy, but the @isuzusa D-MAX 250 is a winning combination: hard worker, decent looker and comfortable daily runner that offers good value.

Day 5: Last leg was a pretty easy drive into Aurora. Total trip was 1700km (900km on dirt) - @Renault_SA Duster was always comfortable & capable; did 5,4l/100km.

Day 4: @isuzusa D-MAX 250 Extended Cab: what you see is what you get. Colour-coded bumpers are about as exciting as the styling gets, interior setup is fairly basic but comfortable. Workhorse in looks and attitude.

Day 3: @isuzusa D-MAX 250 diesel packs 100kW / 320Nm, gearbox is 6-spd auto. No real driving thrills (or frills), but carries 1.1 tons, tows up to 2,1. Won’t help you with questionable taste in furniture, but will move it with ease!

Day 2: So what does “extended cab” mean? Extra space behind the seats of the @isuzusa D-MAX 250. Comes in handy for smaller items that wouldn’t be secure in the load bed. Rearward opening half-doors are a bonus for loading those items!

Day 2: Hartswater to Prieska via Douglas, along the Orange River. Found an abandoned church, got a puncture on the tar 20km out from our stop. Neither of the 2 tyre shops in town had the 17-inch tyre we needed…

Day 1: Sometimes, all you need is a down-to-earth workhorse that gets the job done. The @isuzusa D-MAX 250 is one of those packages - we’re driving the Hi-Ride Extended Cab 4x2 auto.
