The workshop aims to strengthen country capacity to prepare high-quality elimination dossiers, data readiness, and national action plans to accelerate progress towards the 2030 NTD targets.
As more African countries move towards validation of NTD elimination, stronger evidence systems are essential.
This week, @WHOAFRO & ESPEN convened the first regional workshop on PC-NTD elimination dossier development in Brazzaville, bringing together officials from 15 countries

From primary health care, sexual & reproductive health, HIV, integration is essential for sustainable impact
Unlocking NTD impact requires smart financing. Leveraging donated medicines to advocate for domestic resources, integrating NTDs within #UHC frameworks and strengthening the economic case for investment remains critical for domestic resource mobilization.
Clear progress on NTD financing at the 2026 Programme Managers Mtg. Practical experiences on integration into health systems, subnational budget allocations, and innovative private sector partnerships shared. Clear call: strengthen economic benefit case to unlock domestic funds.

Africa’s #NTD elimination targets are achievable—but demand innovation, integration into primary health care, sustainable domestic financing, and stronger cross‑border collaboration. PMM2026 calls for turning political commitment into accelerated action toward 2030.

Urogenital schistosomiasis must move from fragmentation to integration.
In endemic settings, STI, HIV and cervical cancer services are critical entry points and missed opportunities for diagnosis and treatment of FGS.
Health system integration is essential.
