https://t.co/j3In9EHxXz
New publication! 🥁
'Conceptualising Internationalisation at a Distance: A "third category" of university internationalisation'
Here we define and describe the phenomenon of technology-supported learning from "abroad" while remaining at "home" @jsinted
https://t.co/vQE8xoePal
We also compare findings to previous research in face-to-face settings to outline how distance education provides distinct opportunities and challenges in students’ early adjustment experiences
In this paper, we outline how factors such as demographic characteristics, class, language, and access to study resources impact distance learners’ social and academic adjustment experiences at @unisa during their first semesters of study.
‼️New publication‼️
“Understanding the early adjustment experiences of undergraduate distance education students in South Africa”
Available #OpenAccess! #HEchat
https://t.co/znYoupzTVt
In this paper, we explore this concept by examining the adjustment experiences of 1195 international distance learners at the Univerisity of South Africa and found their experiences varied from students studying “at home” @DrBartRienties @Prof_AGunter @ParvatiRaghuram
We felt that various technologies have created increasingly new internationalisation opportunities that allow students to stay “at home” while simultaneously learning through institutions, staff, and peers who are “abroad”
📣(Another) New publication!
Introducing “Internationalisation at a Distance”: A proposed third category of curriculum internationalisation to complement Internationalisation Abroad and Internationalisation at Home.
