The fact that Marx was financially dependent on the capitalism of the Engels family to fund him as he wrote against capitalism is illustrative of the entire nature of the Marxist project.
If you ran Washington like a business and had to cut 6% to stay afloat, you'd start with the fraud and duplication, then make even, across-the-board cuts. That’s not radical. That’s how every business survives.
It’s funny how the Left offers the same four “solutions” regardless of the nature of any problem:
1/ Raise taxes
2/ Censor speech
3/ Seize property
4/ Redefine words
That’s it.
That’s all they’ve got.
My favorite part about election season is all the candidates and parties promising to fix the things they've already had plenty of time to fix. My second favorite part is all the people who keep believing it.
People say:
"I wish one middle-class income could support an entire family like it did in the 1950s."
Okay. Then take the entire 1950s package—not just the parts you romanticize.
• No Netflix, Disney+, Spotify, or endless subscriptions
• One small TV with 3 channels, if you're lucky
• One basic car for the whole family
• No yearly vacations or cheap flights across the country
• No smartphones, laptops, gaming consoles, or internet
• Every meal cooked at home from scratch
• Kids sharing bedrooms
• A house under 1,000 sq. ft. for a family of 4–6
• One bathroom for everyone
• Little to no air conditioning in many places
• Clothes repaired, reused, and handed down
• Eating at restaurants was an occasional luxury, not a weekly habit
The comparison isn't just income.
The average household today consumes far more space, technology, entertainment, travel, convenience, and services than the average household did 70 years ago.
That doesn't mean housing, healthcare, and education aren't more expensive today—they are.
But when people compare lifestyles across generations, they often compare a 1950s income to a 2020s standard of living.
Those aren't the same thing.
If you want the economics of the 1950s, you have to accept the lifestyle of the 1950s too.
Nothing from the government is “free”
It doesn’t matter if it’s Democrats or Republicans selling the idea
No more government spending
Cut spending, reduce the deficit

Let me reframe the Trump/Vance child care credit argument for you in simple economic terms.
Option 1) The government cuts my taxes by $9,000. I keep the $9,000 and my family is benefitted by the whole amount.
Option 2) The government gives a $9,000 credit to "stay-at-home moms." In order to give that credit, the government has to take approximately $19,000 dollars from taxpayers to pay for administration and distribution of the funds, and for the 50% of funds (conservatively estimated) that will go toward fraud and waste.
This is a no-brainer. End the government handouts. Reduce taxes, cut spending, prosecute fraud, let the free market work.
if a homeless schizo man with way less mental health support than lindsey clancy broke into your home and killed your three children, you wouldn’t be debating if he actually meant to do it. you’d just want him put down like a dog.
Dear socialist friend,
Nothing is stopping you.
If collective ownership works so much better, you can prove it by next Tuesday. Pool your savings with your comrades. Elect a planning committee. Run a bakery, a farm, a repair shop – shared ownership, equal pay, decisions by vote. All of it is fully legal, today, everywhere in the West. No revolution needed.
And yet.
You want the workers to seize the factories – but you won’t open a food truck with three people from your group chat. You demand collective housing – but you won’t sign a joint lease with people who agree with you about everything.
People have tried voluntary socialism for two hundred years. The communes keep dissolving – the members simply walk out. The only socialist countries that lasted were the ones that locked the borders.
That’s the whole story. Where leaving is allowed, everyone leaves. Socialism only survives where leaving is banned. The people voted – on foot.
Just do it. Or admit that "collective" was always just a word for other people’s property.
