๐๐ As lockdown ends, the e-Voyager journey continues. The pioneering electric ferry has been at Voyager Boat Yard where the team are developing the charging system. Solar panels have been installed to help charge the 400 vdc battery system.

Travelling by a diesel-powered boats can be noisy, by converting to an electric motor, we are not only reducing our emissions but also enhancing the customer experience. However, engine noise is not only an issue for us humans, it also effects marine wildlife.

Photovoltaic panels will harness the energy of the sun to operate the onboard domestic services and monitor the electric drive system. Weighing in at 120 kilos the design team is altering the ballast by adding weight to the keel, ensuring the vessel is perfectly balanced.
