But it's influence that lives to today and in part fueled the Renaissance was the development of innovative intellect. You miss for example the effects of the mystery religions. Follow @ladybabylon666. Ignore the theatrics but understand the likelihood that Christianity came from the Greek mystery religions. Obviously Greek intellectual works fueled by the mystery religions have made it to today. Also recognize that the Renaissance only came with the weakening of the Catholic Church and power going to the rich merchants. Liberalizing of church dogma is what's given us the liberalism of today.

What you missed is California's achievement in the area of insuring citizens and the poor. California is down to only 6% of citizens uninsured. MediCal insures most of the poor. Texas ranks last in the nation (or #1 for the worst uninsured rate), meaning it has the highest percentage of residents without health insurance in the United States at 16.7%. California spends 26% of its budget on Health care. This is CA's priority. CA's failures reflect pimping to Democrat interests. Public education is captured by the teachers' union that blocks reform. Housing is stifled by NIMBYs empowered by enviromentalists tool CEQA. @GavinNewsom says he signed 50 bills to fix CEQA. It only takes one bill to fix CEQA. Don't allow plaintiff attorneys to collect fees from losers and limit CEQA to non-housing very very large projects. Don't allow local control of programs like multifamily housing and cannabis licensing.
