#BESPLC A5: I will have students rate their speech sounds or their sentences to decide if the productions were correct or could have been better and repeat or reword if needed, thumbs up/down!
#BESPLC A4: I get to know my students; interests, family, pets etc and then talk those topics in our conversations, ask about family/pets, things they've been doing, things that are hard & share about myself as well, encourage them to do their best #BESPLC
#BESPLC A3: my groups are 3-4 so it's easier to be democratic and usually the students are very cooperative with one another and we always take turns making choices or going first #BESPLC
#BESPLC A2: I will use language specific to what the student has done- I like how that you just said your /s/ sound in the word "super" without even thinking about it! or great sentence with that verb "caught".
#BESPLC I agree with Kelly, common language would be a great idea, especially for our kids who struggle to understand and/or express themselves and maybe don't get great support at home #BESPLC
#BESPLC I think I try not to bring any of my personal stuff to work, always stay upbeat, put on my happy face and offer support, praise, compliments whenever I can. I get lots of help from others so I want to give back what I can. #BESPLC
#BESPLC A2: I really like restating to ensure comprehension, I use that technique all the time in speech therapy! And the kids can be really kind in the compliments they give each other. #BESPLC
A1: In the class room my strength is relationship skills between myself and my students. I like to develop a deep connection between us to foster a loving environment. My personal weakness in this season is self-awareness. Just knowing my limits and listening to myself. #BESPLC
A1: my personal strength is self management. I feel that I get through the countless details of my job more efficiently now that I'm learning the system! My weakness is self awareness, I forget to take care of myself! #BESPLC
#BESPLC Teresa Elswick, First Grade Teacher, I have found that the biggest challenge and learning curve for me is balance. I have found that I struggle with when to turn things off (including my brain). I am thankful for the grace that others have shown me during this time too.
