1. If Cursor's edge was being model-agnostic (picking the best model for each task), what happens when it's locked into the xAI stack?

2. $60B acquisition vs. $10B break fee — that's a 6x spread. Who decides, and under what conditions? This looks more like an option priced for SpaceX's upside than a deal priced for Cursor's independence.

3. Two of Cursor's top product engineers already left for xAI last month. Is this announcement the cause, or the consequence?

Cursor gave SpaceX the right (not the obligation) to acquire it for $60B OR pay a $10B break fee. In finance terms, SpaceX just bought a massive corporate call option on Cursor in exchange for Colossus compute.

For Musk, this is vertical integration: SpaceX → xAI (Colossus + Grok) → Cursor (product + distribution to devs). For Cursor, it's access to ~1M H100-equivalent GPUs without raising a dedicated infra round.
