March for #JusticeForHarvey on Saturday 23rd August ❤️ this is to be a peaceful march, as we fight for better rights and access to timely healthcare for children with disabilities. We need to see accountability for the failures that have been allowed to go on and campaign for real and monumental change.
This is to be a *no flag* event from any political parties that choose to walk with us. We are a united front, marching for the children in Ireland being failed. We kindly ask that you respect this. Thank you again for all the support!
Such an important march on Saturday.
@GillSherratt23
you and Stephen have been truly inspirational. No child and no family should have to go through what Harvey and you endured. We will be there on Saturday ❤️
#JusticeForHarvey
@dcu_ecrc@DCU @dcediy Very sad day for women who have provided wonderful childcare and preschool for children for decades. Demanding they loose their livelihood and denying children the best start in wonderful homely services? When all we need is greater investment and consultation with providers.
@drbambrick Correction, 'publicly underfunded'. ECCE is provided to parents at providers expense. Same rate of funding for 8+ years. What else do you know that costs the same now as it did 2 years ago, never mind 8 years ago. Providers carrying the cost of this for too long.
Closures Dublin alone
5 in our ministers constituency
5 Kilbarrack to Donabate
5 Lucan
5 Sandyford
2 Clondalkin
All closed last week. No one taking these services over. Who is going to take responsible for this fiasco. This is nationwide.
@rodericogorman
@MaryMoloneyie@rodericogorman Staff of non parter services can't apply. Surely discrimination, afterall a staff member has no control over their employers business decisions. Unfair to staff and children of those settings who are still operating Ecce on behalf on the government.
Out supporting @FederationEarly Childhood Providers at the Dáil today with Cllr. @SNicoullaud & Right To Change. Disgraceful how the Government is treating this sector and these workers
We need proper funding to improve facilities, standards of education & fair pay for staff
@ValerieGaynor@MurphyDunne@LeoVaradkar @BigStartIreland Maybe it's time Big Start call for a strike, support the decent providers who want to finance proper pay for EY teachers, many who are also teachers in their settings, but who are loosing staff to SNA, and facing closure because fees are capped at 2016 capitation levels.
@MurphyDunne And now the department are capping the fees of long standing private providers to that same low rate of Ecce capitation, whereas a new provider in early years can set their fees at their discretion. Surely this is discrimination?
@IrelandAMVMTV@rodericogorman Could we have July/August closure figures please? More will close now that sessional only settings that have changed to Part time have had their parents fees capped at the capitation rate! Favourable treatment for brand new partner services against existing partner services.
@Craig_Speer@QPARKIRELAND Sorry only just saw this, 2 hours 50 mins til we hit the exit. Disastrous, absolutely no organisation or traffic management from either qpark or the Gardaí. Hope you got home safely.
@QPARKIRELAND please get Stephens Green car park sorted, took over 2 hours to get from level 7 to level 5, sitting on level 5, no staff anywhere to be found, no one directing traffic!! Chaos
@rtenews people stuck in cars on the top floor of St Stephens Green Centre car park for 2 hours.. Please advise garda traffic, Q Park and other drivers, avoid avoid avoid
@rodericogorman @eilishbalfe @FraffieB@CatherineEmh@louheavin Honestly minister, this is farcical. The preschool sector is on its knees in terms of viability. The only thing keeping it going is the good will of hard working, conscientious providers not wanting to let children and families down.
