@ismiseliam 3/3 During this time you’re covered for injury and unexpected sickness with your wages secured. This same procedure should be set up at home to relieve the pressure on those teachers with mortgages, families and/or those teachers hit with unexpected health issues.
@ismiseliam 2/3 For example, if you’re employed on a fixed contract during term 3/4 you will continue to be paid right through the six weeks summer holidays until the start of the new school year. This still happens regardless if you’re returning to school the next year or not.
@ismiseliam 1/2 Teaching in Australia here. Even if you’re only on a six month contract, you’re paid public holidays, term holidays and acquire sick days plus vacation leave the exact same as permanent teachers.
