It’s been a while since I posted but the students and teachers here at CSS and #SD46SC are so connected and generous, I had to find time to send out pics of 1) this amazing artistic tribute up in my hallway and 2) get the word out about tomorrow’s pierogi fundraiser for #UNHRC
Thank you to @SCFWA for supporting a District-wide author visit via Zoom from @susinnielsen for SD46 Sunshine Coast - sts and teachers at 18 sites talking about writing and their fave moments from No Fixed Address with the author herself. Inspiring! #SD46
Happiness is ... an LLC that is spacious enough to fit 2 classes at the same time! Spaghetti tower-building for Careers 8 (“What is it like to work with someone you don’t know well?”) and PE 9 Healthy Living inquiry into Addictions — Thx Ms. Liddicoat & Mr. Turner #SD46
Super proud of our Sakinaws Nolan and Jakob who found a stranded 90 year old motorist who had been stuck in their car for three days without food and water and stayed with him until help arrived. #PenderHarbourHeroes#SD46
Checked out 140 items to our patrons on our July day; will we beat this number today?
A heartfelt “thank you” to GES for including me this year. So grateful for the chance to learn from the masters in such a caring and dynamic elementary community!
Back to CSS in September!
“learning involves generational roles and responsibilities.... learning requires exploration of one’s identity”. Need to keep this lovely example in mind during conversations about BC’s First Peoples Principles of Learning #SD46
GREEN LANTERN: LEGACY is inspired by both of my grandmothers, so it means so much to be in Vietnam right now to share this with my 97yo grandma/bà ngoại, who I hadn’t seen in almost 20 years. 💚 Here’s to honoring all the real superheroes in our lives. @DCComics
Did you know the word "dandelion" is no longer in the Oxford Junior Dictionary? Dandelion and 40+ other nature words are disappearing from children's vocabularies. #TheLostWords is a spell book to bring them back. Retweet to win a copy! #WordWednesday#SavetheLostWords
Yay for #10 - “They recognize the difference between fact and opinion...” Information literacy helps to make you “irresistible”! Thx for sharing, @alisonlidd#SD46 https://t.co/hw8FrzygjR
Finally, @rmdteachers our district has a SOGI policy. #sd38 Trustees voted in support 6 to 1. The night certainly showed why this policy was necessary. Thanks everyone who attended to support students, staff, parents and trustees.
Sending out a “thank you” to Melissa Bell for organizing a gathering for CSS teachers on Indigenous Peoples’ Day to showcase our growing collection of FPPL/T resources. Great snacks - and, despite my dashed-off reminder at our staff mtg yesterday, great turnout! #SD46
