Some personal news.
Rachel and I both won!
Many, many thanks to all those who voted for us and the members who worked so hard to get us elected. https://t.co/zkKhWy4WU4
The polls are now closed. I would like to take the opportunity of thanking everyone who has worked so hard during the election campaign, and who have been out in force supporting their Labour candidates today.
Thank you to everyone who used their vote to support Labour🌹

Boris Johnson’s response to people struggling through the Tory cost of living crisis is pathetic.
Only Labour has a plan to help people like Elsie with their energy bills.
“I had a local care home manager contact me…in the days it took to get a test…14 other residents became symptomatic.”
Peter Kyle, Labour MP and Shadow Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, says “lots of things could have been done.”

I said to @mattforde in January that the sexist film parody about me was misogynistic and it still is now.
As women we sometimes try to brush aside the sexism we face, but that doesn’t make it ok.
If some Tory MP is watching porn at work in the House of Commons, that is not just a matter of party discipline, that's surley a matter for the Commons Authorities.
I know how it feels to be looked down on - and I know what it’s like struggling to make ends meet.
Whatever people say about me, I’m proud of my background.
It informs my Labour values and our Party’s priorities - offering real help to people, right now🌹

Women in politics face sexism and misogyny every day - and I’m no different.

It's that time of year when one gets humbled over and over again as people say they have already cast their vote - and placed their trust - in you. It is always such a privilege to be told this.
Patel's barbaric ending of asylum seeking with a 'send them back' dog whistle is designed to get them though the local elections. Three days of this leading on the news just as the postal votes drop. Absolutely desperate attempt to keep Johnson in a job.
If they can deport legal asylum seekers with rights established under international law, they can deport you.
And when you arrive there, they can have taken your citizenship away.
Or vice versa. They don't care and are evil.
That's where we are.
They were laws, not rules.
Law breaking on an epic scale by those who made the law in and around Downing Street.
Johnson's attitude to the law a virus that infected the heart of government.
