BREAKING: More than 50,000 people are reportedly missing following the devastating earthquakes in Venezuela, according to crowdsourced data from within the country.

A few tornadoes (some strong) will be possible this afternoon/evening across parts of Kansas and Oklahoma.
A strong outflow/differential heating boundary will likely develop, which will be a zone of increased moisture and low-level wind shear.
Storms that can tap into this regime will have the greatest potential to produce tornadoes.
Otherwise, storms that stay well north or south of this zone will mostly be capable of very large hail.
I do think there is a legit chance for strong tornadoes today along and around the OK/KS border. I think the SPC highlights this area well below. Heads up.
The moment fishermen off the coast of La Guaira spot the dust covering large parts of the coast as a result of building collapses after the devastating earthquake in Venezuela.
UPDATE: Venezuela earthquake.
🟧 Confirmed figures:
At least 164 deaths
Around 971 injuries
🟧 Missing / unaccounted for:
About 10,626 people still without contact (from online registry data of 11,259 reports)
🟧 USGS risk modelling:
Death toll likely to reach the thousands
40% chance of 10,000–100,000 total casualties
14% chance of exceeding 100,000
The Earth just experienced FOUR significant earthquakes in a single day.
First, it was a Magnitude 5.6 in California’s Redwood Valley.
Then, 7 hours later, a devastating “double” quake inflicted massive destruction in northern Venezuela. The first one at Magnitude 7.2, followed by an even larger Magnitude 7.5 only 39 SECONDS later.
Finally, a mere 25 minutes after the Venezuela twins, a Magnitude 6.9 marine earthquake struck offshore of Kuji, Japan.
Very rare to see this much seismic activity across the globe in such a short period of time.
