AMOC.
On course to wipe out our civilization within decades, maybe even years.
Yet you’ve never seen or heard a journalist ask a politician about it. EVER.
The media is the problem.
Distracting us with inanity & bile at the exact moment we should be adapting like crazy.
In just over 50 years, nearly three quarters of the world's biodiversity has disappeared owing to climate change, habitat loss (esp to farming), pollution

The USDA effectively gagged employees and systematically downplayed the significance of bird flu it cattle, which now seems to be intensifying and spreading to human farmworkers. https://t.co/p2K5CZQ67E
Let’s get something straight about fossil fuel phase-out: renewables needn’t replace all the coal, oil and gas we use today bc most of it is just used to produce and move those fossil fuels around!
We only need to replace the useful energy: 37% of what we currently produce 🫨🧵
Heartbreaking footage shows a young humpback with her jaw ripped apart after a collision with a ferry last week.
The whale, named Sweet Girl, was swimming near a port in Tahiti on October 8 when a boat left the area travelling at 6x the permitted speed.

“In other disciplines we accept scientist activists. We accept climate scientists who are activists. We accept physicians who advocate for their patients... But w/i the animal research community, that is somehow considered anathema." - Dr.@macaqtivist

New research shows dolphins are breathing in microplastics when they emerge from the ocean for air.
It is just the latest example on my running list of "unhinged places scientists have found microplastics" which I am sharing in full today https://t.co/JzIf10KSE0
A lot of talk in the media about how Florida is now “uninsurable”. The naivety and hubris of humanity expecting to be insured against a climate Armageddon is off the scale.
How about the fact that this entire civilisation is uninsurable. How about the fact that money, and therefore insurance, will have no value in a demolished world where there is no food.
How about the vast areas of the planet which are becoming not uninsurable, but uninhabitable 💀
There is no insurance, or assurance. Only climate, ecological and economic devastation. But hey, good to make a point about the insurance industry collapsing. Maybe the same journalists will write about how this entire planet is collapsing
#ClimateCrisis #collapse
Such an excellent illustration of how inefficient fossil fuels are and how manufactured our dependency actually is.
Close to half of all shipping traffic worldwide is just moving fossil fuels around
Re-upping the 2024 State of the Climate Report released this week and led by illustrious U.S. climate scientist @WilliamJRipple. Why no US press interest?
Here’s the first sentence:
“We are on the brink of an irreversible climate disaster.” https://t.co/RrcENzFWYk
The other day I went to Tulare, followed my nose and came across a pile of dead cows outside of Mendonsa Farms in Tulare. The cows were positive for bird flu. Mendosa also owned FM Jerseys nearby. Thank you @Newsweek for publishing!

A California county is holding a referendum to abolish factory farms. Denver is weighing a ban on slaughterhouses, including the one that makes 20% of US lamb meat.

Yet another @nytimes analysis of #HurricaneMilton that fails to mention #climatechange. Hard to explain this seemingly willful blindness. https://t.co/q2gb7PP2cE
