Establishment Republicans are braindead.
Most people know that socialism doesn't work and is a bad idea.
The problem is that simply pointing out why the likes of Zohran are bad is completely tone deaf.
You can make arguments against socialism until you're blue in the face (and I have), but that will NOT register with people in their 20s and 30s who have no prospect of ever owning a home, having a family, or raising children.
You have to at least SPEAK to their problems. Ideally, you also try to FIX their problems.
How would they "fix" the problem?
Well, they could start by not spending even more than Democrats do!
The debt spending and printing of money in this country and all over the world has continued to redistribute money UP from wage earners to asset owners every second of every day.
Everyone always asks when our debt is going to "hit the fan" and break our system.
The reality is that it already has!
The consequences of printing all this money has continued to lower the wages of wage earning people and inflate the asset prices of the wealthy who do not rely on wages and who already own the things that are now too expensive for wage earners to buy.
Real estate, stocks, crypto, gold... these assets are out of reach of most wage earners who can never get ahead because they'll never own assets.
And Republicans in Congress do NOTHING but carry on about how bad socialism is while offering nothing and refusing to cut spending.
Mike Johnson is the weakest "leader" I have ever witnessed. He has no principle at all. Completely spineless.
So, Republicans, don't cry when you lose the midterms because those darn kids just don't understand how bad socialism is.
They probably do, but they're so desperate that any potential solution looks more appealing than what they're currently dealing with - and you contributed to that just as much as Democrats ever have.

@HyperTechInvest Yes, but to me, that's a sign that it's time to take significant profits and sit tight for a bit while DCA'ing into strong long-term bets.
It's the psychology of investing. Bad things happen when you feel like 100% in 5 months isn't enough.
@HyperTechInvest I have a similar feeling, and I'm up a little over 70% YTD.
But you have to remind yourself to have gratitude.
At the end of the day, how much money do we need to be fulfilled? The answer is none.
I always keep this in the back of my mind.
@EricLDaugh Accounts like yours are pathetic.
I voted for Trump three times, yet it amazes me what sycophants you are.
Trump isn't out there fighting in these wars, nor are his kids or grandkids.
He's not "tough". He's a keyboard warrior.
@0xAsharib@TIME The list is awful, but it's undeniable that Netanyahu has been extremely influential.
It's not supposed to be about who you like - it's about who has been influential.
Netanyahu somehow runs the entire U.S. government, so he's pretty influential.
@TIME Well, whatever methodology you used, it was awful.
I don't even know 80% of these people, and the ones I do know aren't even slightly influential, for the most part.
No Tucker Carlson ? Whether you love or hate him, he has completely changed the national discourse.
@4MrAnderson@BasedMikeLee 😂
You say this like there's any actual chance they do that. Those wishes are gone. It's too late now. Trump's administration was the last hope, and he did nothing. In fact, he has made it far worse. Started with DOGE and then completely reversed course.
@FirstSpeaker59@Nero The entire Republican primary will have to distance themselves from Trump while trying not to alienate his HARDCORE base that would literally def be anything he ever does.
It will be a tough needle to thread.
@Mr_Marcus51@Nero Maybe, but VPs never have any power. Their job is largely just symbolic.
Rubio's role is an actual, important role that has actual power.
Rubio being involved in way more than Vance is not unusual. It's the way it's supposed to work.
@reannadilley "Vote blue no matter who"
Except you're even worse. You're not just saying to vote for him no matter what; you're saying to AGREE with him no matter what.
Do you have any self-respect?
@reannadilley This is one of the most pathetic things I've ever read.
You worship a man and blindly agree with him, no matter what he does.
How does that not embarrass you?
I voted for Trump three times, and even I find this uniquely pathetic.
@RonPaulWasR1ght@Timcast Scott Adams talked about reframing. For those 40+, it’s hard to re-frame the view of Israel—we grew up seeing it as unique, shaped by the Holocaust. Reframing it as just another country isn’t easy. But that's what it is. Actually, it's worse.
@WejKiller@WeimarWillhelm@ShieldsClips@RavensEyes_ I don't generally condone judging people by their lineage, but it's become very obvious that they want us to. They're begging people to hate them. We may as well give them their wish.
