@PhilipTKingston Retired county judge Jim Foster claims that Dallas County has ownership of both viaducts -- preventing the city from taking any action. If he's correct, county commissioners need to step in and assert their authority.
@Johnyalamo Competency will be a key campaign ingredient in the next race. The developer candidates will run on that. Blackmon can also run on competency. Crockett’s next move is to the national media however. Plenty will pay to subscribe for her content too.
This 1890 photo shows two important civic structures. At the northwest corner of Commerce and Akard is A.B. Bristol's 1889 City Hall. To its right is the after-hours city hall -- Ward's Saloon where deal-making occurred nightly in its upstairs parlor.
@OakCliffSecedes@JimSchutze58466 For downtown workers like me, the viaducts are essential. On lunchbreaks, we hop over to Oak Cliff for food, or to shop at Bishop Arts and then hop right back before anyone notices we're gone. Yes, the Cedars is closer, but way fewer options there.
I can’t believe how friendly everyone is here in Dallas. Me and my friends meet John who takes our order at Taco Joint. He asks me where I’m from and I say London and tell him I came to Dallas for the game. He goes out the back and comes back with a t-shirt and hands it to me as a present. I give him a big hug as a thank you! 🙏🏼 The kindness of strangers never ceases to amaze me❤️
@jos3_avila@CityOfDallas Being in a non-descript office building could also change the psychology of our council and city manager. Currently, they act like the building they're in. They loom over the citizens just like City Hall physically looms over its surroundings....
This Beef 🥩 Brisket just melts in my mouth - I can’t believe that Dallas has 50 plus restaurants like this …
Today I drive to Nashville, Cleveland Saturday, Boston Sunday - carrying on my England fan World Cup tour of the USA
Any food recommendations?
@RTR_bronin A news outlet needs to investigate and report on this. If Frisco/Plano actually round up their homeless, put them in vans, and transport them to downtown Dallas in the dark of night, that would be a huge story.
