Today's woman in STEM is Sau Lan Wu! Dr. Wu is a professor of physics at the University of Wisconsin. She made important contributions to the discovery of the J/psi which provided evidence for the existence of the charm quark and the gluon!
Today female in stem is Alice Ball (1892-1916). She was a chemist who developed an injectable herbal extract that was the most effective treatment for leprosy during the early 20th century! She was the first black woman to receive a master's degree from the University of Hawaii!
Jane Goodall (1934-) is today’s female is stem! Goodall is a primatologist most known for her long-term study of wild chimpanzees in Tanzania. The Gombe chimp observation, which Jane began in 1960, is the world’s longest running continuous wildlife research project.
Barbara McClintock (1902-1992)! Her study of corn revealed that genetic elements can change position on a chromosome, activating or deactivating other genes in turn. It changed the way we understand genetics and genetic diseases.
