@Biggdammy_@Hauwa_L@TomiwaTegbe Always try to READ THE ROOM. Speaking against rape should not be mitigated because of the reality that false rape accusers exist. if not, everyone will speak against rape as an event that doesn’t actively happen more in reality. So how about we allow people SPEAK
@ilebornosa1@adeoluinuga@SympLySimi “You can’t tell people how to behave” but you continue to preach “behavioural control” TO WOMEN. Self control is not a blessing or a gift, it’s conscious discipline. Nobody should have to live on eggshells because of somebody else
I haven't been on twitter today - but someone brought a few of my old tweets to my attention and I can't not address it.
14 years ago, I was 23, so I was definitely not a child. I'm not here to make excuses because I don't have anything to make excuses for. What I can't let anyone do is twist my story to fit false narratives.
In 2012, I lived and helped out at my mom's daycare while I was hustling my music. I tweeted everything that happened in my life, as we all did at the time. Kids can be mischievous. If a child did something I found funny, I tweeted about it. Kids are cute and lovable. I want to hug, kiss and cuddle them. I tweet about it. Nothing I tweeted was from perversion.
I was not famous, so maybe if I was, I would have understood that anything is open to whatever interpretation including being used falsely by a faceless mob. I've never been depraved in my life. You can retweet all the tweets in the world about me loudly crushing on people I admire/d. Or being a cheeky young woman. I wasn't trying to hide it, because I don't have anything to hide.
My team has been deleting some of my tweets because of how sensitive it is for my family. To be honest, I did not want to. I have always spoken against rape and sexual assault even before you knew I existed. It's not a costume I'm wearing, it's who I am. I've never claimed to be perfect. I've never claimed to know everything. I said stop raping women. I stand by it.
@nekiwes @Olawamiwale_ @adeoluinuga @sidney_sbm It’s not “everything” it’s an issue that directly relates to the life of not only herself but her young daughter. You must be able to see that from her (as a mother) perspective
All Simi said was “stop raping women,” and this random fools asked her about false rape accusers. My problem with them is that they have their page. Instead of asking Simi about False Rape Accusers, why didn’t they post about false rape accusers on their page? Abi Simi, get two heads?
And because mostly no one will believe them.
I remember when two external candidate (girls) cornered my classmate after waec and graped the guy cuz him too do feminine.
When he was relating to us about the incident we were busy laughing at him and was asking him if he didn’t enjoy it. We were even mocking him for saying girls graped him if he is not ashamed of himself as a man. It made the boy not to report or tell anyone again.
Looking back, I and the other two guys were stupid to have done that to this my guy.
@MrMekzy_ It’s the patriarchal society that enforced that narrative for the sole purpose of showcasing gender superiority void of individuality and emotions. That is why we have this generation to teach and groom the coming one to not have to accept these laid out standards and claims
@Olawamiwale_ @adeoluinuga @sidney_sbm In 2023, you posted defamatory content about a young lady you barely knew for likes and follows. You did not give 2 cents about her family, her dignity, or her life. You simply “hopped on a trend” without any thought. I hope you see the problem now.
@sidney_sbm You waited how long to speak about this? Your parents didn’t come forward to speak about it or sue the school when it happened.. but now you’re a grown man, here, on X talking about how you FEEL as though you were molested when you were younger? [kindly attach evidence]
@sidney_sbm Real People face sexual harassment, gendered violence, and rape everyday. “To hop on a trend” to cancel a woman solely because of speaking against gendered violence is quite distressing.
@Pasnthruu@adeoluinuga @sidney_sbm His “alleged encounter” happened over how many years ago? If there was an issue why wasn’t it addressed by his parents earlier? Why did he wait until now when the media is trying to cancel a woman and her family before he speaks up? It is crazy to think that people believe
@Olawamiwale_ @adeoluinuga @sidney_sbm What logic? She spoke out against a form of harm- enforced mostly on her gender and people who felt “triggered” by it thought fabricating claims and twisting OLD TWEETS makes up for a form of justice? The Government aren’t only the issue in Nigeria. The people are too
@dfwMartinx2@adeoluinuga @sidney_sbm Rape occurs via penetrating… women can’t penetrate men unless there’s a presence of a foreign body and in that case it is considered molestation and sexual assault. So when a woman or individual says “Not all men but always a man” be informed and sensible.
