My role at the Midnight Foundation ends this month. The department I sat in will be wound down by end of month.
I've been operating in the shadows, making sure you see a block every 6 seconds.
For the past several months I've been full-time on protocol operations. Not my team, not my title. But an open source protocol is not just developers. It is the operators, and the network of nodes expressing that technology correctly, block after block. Someone had to hold that. So I did.
Throughout our Testnet milestones I grew our operator community to ~200 SPOs. We've done incredible things together including that one time we were migrating to Testnet-02 env but I had to open up my laptop on the hackathon floor and figure out we had a genesis param mismatch which required a hot fix. But you know what? I loved it. I like unexpected, the fringe end of uncertainty, and reeling chaos. Midnight has been live only a few months and going to novel and new evolutions for the forceable future. I'm glad to have been apart of realizing this network's existence.
Thirteen node operators through mainnet go-live. Eleven operator companies, roughly 50 nodes, three environments. Midnight has stayed live.
Before that, I founded the Midnight developer community and created our Discord. I led the first alpha cohorts, around 700 developers back on devnet-0. Some of those people are Midnight ambassadors now. Some have won hackathons. Some started their career in crypto or engineering in that cohort.
That is the part I am proudest of, and it isn't close.
I got into this industry to fix systems. I don't agree with the qualified order of value. When I first heard about Midnight, honestly, it sounded cool. Then I actually sat with the vision and liked it: selective disclosure, the ability to choose how much of yourself you reveal. There are real commercial reasons that matters. But at heart, privacy is what freedom requires.
This ending was devastating and unexpected. Thank you to the community for the support and the inspiration, and to the partners I onboarded and worked beside to get Midnight live and keep it there.
Now I'm looking for my next role. My portfolio is below with far more detail. If you think I'd fit your team, or you know someone I should be talking to, please reach out. https://t.co/oihDC8l1y3
And a repost does more than you think.

UPDATE
ROSEN BLOCKS 84 ATTACK ATTEMPTS 😱😱😱
@RosenBridge_erg revealed it successfully blocked 84 attempts to exploit its bridge, with zero successful transactions.
The attacker reportedly tried to forge rsBTC transfers from Cardano to Bitcoin, but every attempt failed.
Rosen says bridges must be built to withstand constant probing and increasingly sophisticated attacks
Cardano is taking a massive leap toward true decentralization!
Brandon Wolf from IO Labs joins @CryptoWendyO & @jasonappleton on Block//45 to share how key teams are moving out of IO to form a collaborative cohort of independent entities. This is the future we’ve been building for all along.

Many people compare Zcash and Midnight because both use advanced cryptography and privacy technologies.
But they are solving very different problems.
🛡️ Zcash = Private Money
🌙 Midnight = Private Applications
Let's break it down.
Zcash was built to answer a simple question:
"How can people send money privately?"
Using zk-SNARKs, Zcash can hide:
✅ Sender
✅ Receiver
✅ Transaction Amount
This makes it one of the most advanced privacy payment systems ever created.
Midnight asks a much bigger question:
"How can we build an entire digital economy where privacy is programmable?"
Not just payments.
Everything.
👤 Identity
🤖 AI Agents
🏥 Healthcare
🏦 Finance
📄 Documents
🏢 Enterprise Data
Think of it this way:
Zcash protects transactions.
Midnight protects data.
That's a huge difference.
Most blockchain data today is completely public.
Midnight was designed to change that.
The recent Zcash vulnerability highlighted one of the challenges privacy chains face.
When data is hidden, proving that a bug was never exploited becomes difficult.
Even if a flaw is patched quickly, uncertainty can impact confidence.
Privacy is powerful.
But privacy also creates new design challenges.
Midnight approaches privacy differently.
Its core philosophy is:
🔒 Protect data
👁️ Reveal only what's necessary
This concept is called Selective Disclosure.
You can prove information without exposing everything.
For example:
Instead of revealing your full identity...
You could prove:
✅ Over 18
✅ Licensed Professional
✅ Accredited Investor
✅ Authorized Employee
Without exposing your personal information.
That's where privacy becomes useful beyond payments.
This is especially important for businesses.
Most companies cannot place sensitive information on public blockchains.
Customer records.
Medical records.
Trade secrets.
Financial data.
Midnight aims to make blockchain usable for these industries.
Where things get really interesting:
🤖 AI
The future won't just be humans using blockchains.
It will be autonomous agents.
AI systems buying, selling, negotiating, and interacting on our behalf.
Imagine an AI agent:
✅ Proving its permissions
✅ Accessing confidential data
✅ Executing contracts
✅ Making payments
Without exposing private information publicly.
That's a massive opportunity.
This is where concepts like "Midnight City" become interesting.
A future ecosystem where:
🏢 Businesses
🤖 AI Agents
👤 Users
🔐 Digital Identities
Can interact privately while remaining verifiable.
Another key difference:
🪙 Zcash = Primarily a privacy currency
🌙 Midnight = A privacy platform
Developers can build:
• Private DeFi
• Private Identity Systems
• Private AI Applications
• Enterprise Solutions
• Government Services
On top of the network.
To be clear:
Zcash deserves enormous credit.
Its research, cryptography, and privacy innovations helped push the entire industry forward.
Without projects like Zcash, many modern privacy technologies wouldn't exist.
But the market opportunity may be much larger than private payments alone.
The future may require:
🔒 Private AI
🔒 Private Identity
🔒 Private Data
🔒 Private Applications
Not just private transactions.
Simple analogy:
🛡️ Zcash:
"Let's make cash private."
🌙 Midnight:
"Let's make the entire digital economy private."
As AI, digital identity, and enterprise adoption grow, that distinction could become increasingly important.

“Getting Tangem Wallets onto Best Buy shelves means that for the first time, any consumer can access a hardware wallet that is both genuinely secure and genuinely easy to use. That combination has never existed at this scale, and it fundamentally changes who self-custody is for.” – Andrey Lazutkin @lazutkinandrew, CTO at Tangem.
I've begun a comprehensive governance review of over 11,000 DAOs and a decade of literature in and out of our space to study executive function, roadmap, and strategy setting. The goal will be to propose some ideas to add new features to Cardano's governance via the constitution and new technology that will resolve much of the conflict we are facing.
I'm considering if it is prudent at this point to become a Drep and to host a new mini-convention to get it done in time for the 2027 process. More on this later. #CardanoUnityAndClarity
Telecom networks don’t fully control their revenue.
Most wholesale traffic is routed across multiple intermediaries before reaching its destination.
At every step:
→ Margin is diluted
→ Visibility is reduced
→ Control weakens
The issue isn’t demand.
Global voice traffic is still massive.
The issue is ownership of endpoints.
When you don’t control the destination, you don’t fully control the economics.
That’s why margins compress.
The next phase of telecom is defined by a simple shift:
From routing traffic
→ To controlling endpoints
Because the networks that control endpoints capture more of the value.
This shift is already underway.
At Minutes Network, endpoints are now integrated directly into the network - with live traffic, real call data, and measurable revenue.
