Every single book I’ve written has changed me. Whether it’s a story I was passionate about or a message that has impacted me deeply.

@SouthwestAir part 2: Then this morning and keep being told, "I'm so sorry, there is nothing we can do... the system doesn't allow us to change the dates." I was assured we could use them previously by a Southwest employee.
Now, two phone calls later I am waiting for a call back.
@SouthwestAir I called a few months ago and was assured we would be able to use our travel funds for a trip in November (due to not being able to use them for a few months during COVID). I try to book our flights last night and it says I cannot use funds. Help!
This has been a season of grieving, so many ways of life have changed and are drastically different than we expected they would be. I cling to truths like this and look for the changing of the season and the light peeking through the clouds. What are you at the beginning of?
Whenever I experience a lot of emotion, within myself or around me in the world, I do free flow writing in my journal. I jot down my thoughts and feelings as quickly as I can put words to them. What do you do in order to express your emotions?
Our creativity can connect us to other people.
When we share glimpses of what we are working on and how it is helping us cope, we inspire others.
What are you working on today? Rest & relaxation totally count!
During this less than perfect season, there is grief and joy, all mixed together. I'm giving myself space to mourn while clinging to kindness and the good gifts of each day.
What are you grateful for today?
Despite the darkness of this season,
as my friend eloquently named it,
pushing hope uphill—He has risen.
This morning as my family strolled past blossoms of light,
I breathed in their fragrance: the scent of life after death.
There is more than this moment,
thank God!
I curled up in a ball on our bed and cried. The weight of grief hit me full force at 2 pm yesterday and although I had pushed it away for an hour, I knew it was time to give it space.
One day. One moment at a time. This was God’s gentle reminder in the midst of my tears.
We can all improve. Our books can be better. It's really true what they say, that you're really never done writing a book. The thing is...we won’t get better without action and release. You can edit and wordsmith forever and a day. Let it go and send it out into the world.
To gain courage, we must act.
Everything worth doing is worth doing scared.
Everything worth doing is worth doing imperfectly.
When we act, we gain courage and clarity.

As creatives, it's really important to remember that we are not defined by anyone’s story, not even our own. We are also not defined by any one piece of work. In fact, once we release something into the world it takes on a life of its own and is no longer ours.
We must act and write rather than let the lies dictate what we work on. We get our courage from actually stepping out and starting to do the work. Recognizing and ignoring the lies is how we move forward. What lie have you recognized and ignored? Let me know
I love writing and not because writing comes easily to me. Sometimes it's actually incredibly hard to write. Everything worth doing is worth doing imperfectly.
What's something you do, even though it's challenging?

Everything worth doing is worth doing scared.
This is a story that I’ve been afraid to share ever since I went through moving to a missionary ship after creating a normal life in Germany. It's published now (woohoo!)
How do you stir up courage when you need it?
I have this saying pinned up in my office so that I see it every day. The reason I look at this sentence every single day is because so often it's easier for us to wait for courage...
Do you have a favorite saying? Put it in the comments below so we can all lift one another up.
Thank you to so many of you who supported, though the lies, as I wrote, published, and launched my book “ADRIFT" (https://t.co/9J2iC7qZIg)!

When we act, we gain courage and clarity. Courage comes from actually stepping out and starting to do the work. The lies will continue, even while we work. Recognizing and ignoring the lies is how we achieve our dreams and goals. What is your goal for this week?
