It’s also misleading to suggest that the $325 amount is locked in for 400 years. It can be changed in any subsequent budget bill. It does give the governor a leg up next time since the status quo will be the $325 increase, which a partial veto could retain.

Extension of the increase in revenue limits doesn’t raise anyone’s taxes. It helps restore local control over school spending. It loosens the restrictions on locally-elected school boards deciding how much to invest in their public schools, and lessens the need for referenda.

@EdWhelanEPPC D.Ct. extended absentee request deadline by 1 day, to 4/3. No dispute. To make that meaningful given mail deliveries, have to extend the deadline to receive absentees beyond 4/7. S.Ct’s jumping in on 4/6 to invent postmark requirement needlessly undermines that. Unforced error
