Great discussion about two new RCTs. Or if you are burned out on new trials, listen in to learn about the new (appears useless) "fan mail" button that you can use to agitate @EdQian
We continue #CCR24 recap by giving (brief) thoughts on the presentations and dive into REVISE evaluating PPIs for stress ulcer PPX in @NEJM

New episode! Stress steroids in septic shock from CAP, a 2ndary analysis of the APROCCHSS trial in @LancetRespirMed
Then we dive into our mailbag and address questions on driving pressure and the timing of intubation!

@giovannilandoni@NEJM Both questions are important. The 2nd one has bothered me.
Overall, VL failure rate is low but the "no VL available" situation exists. Do we devote time to keeping DL skills alive? How many DL intubations do you need to maintain the skill? Is that the best thing for patients?
New episode from #ATS2024! We review the presentations from the @NEJM, @JAMA_current, and @ATSBlueEditor combined session. We also talk a little bit about the conference in general and how we're handling the "terrible weather" in San Diego.

It's fascinating reading the landmark articles and getting the idea of the practice at the time that sparked the question. But as times and technology evolve, sometimes we do need to ask ourselves if those old articles still apply, this is a great example. Kudos to the authors!
Episode 37! Glycemic control in the ICU is the topic with NICE-SUGAR and TGC-Fast both from @NEJM . We also mention Mary Lou Retton and the taste of tube feeds...
