I'm so excited for Cyclethon 5!
I have my poster up & framed from last year! I can't wait to watch all the fun & see all the money raised for a great cause! ✨
I very rarely get throne gifts, especially cause I always feel weird promoting that I even have one, but my chatters were asking if I planned to get Pokopia cause it seemed like a game I'd really like. I mentioned how I can't afford a Switch 2 anytime soon due to debts & bills, which must take priority.
Some chatters were asking me why I didn't put it on my throne. to that I responded. "I don't usually get gifts so I don't update my throne often."
I did add it anyway cause they asked "what's the harm in it."
Over 2 streams a Switch 2 & Pokopia were funded ;A;
I can't thank each person enough for helping as there is no way I would have been able to get on on my own. I really am so excited to play lots of games with you all on it! I'm extremely lucky to have so many Cloud Companions that treat me kindly! ✨
here’s all my cards!!! be careful looking at them too closely or they might deplete your sanity 😱

Since I'm graduating this spring and won't have the streaming laptop anymore, I'm having my FIRST DONOTHON TO RAISE MONEY FOR MY FIRST PC!!
See you all Feb 27th 8pm EST <3
(schedule will be announced soon)
You will ALWAYS be a small streamer.
Let me explain.
You have 3 average viewers now and in your circle you have buddies that have 10 average. You feel small.
You now have 10 average. And all your buddies and people you look up to have 20 average. You still feel small.
You are PARTNERED with 80 average viewers! But everyone you look up to gets 100-150 or even 300 average.
It never stops. And it never will stop. If the grind is what you aim for, the grind will always exist. You will always feel like you are on the smaller end of your "bracket". But please dont forget to take a step and look back at where you came from and how far you've came.
I believe there is a fine balance between staying ambitious and staying humble. While you climb, dont forget the people who brought you to where you are. And alternatively, there is nothing wrong with striving for more.
Just please be kind to yourself and your growth. Be kind to the people who want to see you succeed and have given you opportunities and platforms to achieve your dreams.
Kars TED talk over.
i'm a big fan of the "gps theory" when you miss a turn, your gps doesn't judge you, it recalculates. no matter how many detours you take, it finds another way forward. life works like that too. you'll make mistakes, but your destination doesn't vanish. the route just changes.
VTubers are performers.
Performers like actors, singers and musicians have ALWAYS built careers while holding day jobs. This isn't a new problem, and having a kawaii or ikemen avatar doesn't change the math.
If you're an artist streaming as a VTuber, that doesn't change. Many illustrators and writers have also built careers while holding day jobs - or if they're extremely lucky, by having financial backing from family so they can focus on their craft.
"But RAINA, I'm just here to vibe! What do you mean, 'performer'?"
Looking effortless on camera for an audience is still a craft. Reading the room, comedic timing, being comforting - all of these are things you can get good at with time and practice.
What most VTubers don't realize is that they need that time and space to practice these things - kinda like your favorite Soundcloud rapper needing to put out a few duds before finally dropping some sick bars.
The main difference is that streaming and content creator culture has replaced the "between releases" period that every other creative career has with a schedule - AND expectations of near-constant availability.
If you miss a stream or upload, it feels like abandonment of an audience - not an "artist at work" perfecting their craft, honing their identity, pursuing other experiences to get more perspective, or just plain getting rest.
Many VTubers, especially those who primarily stream, have inherited that expectation - all without questioning whether it was reasonable.
So if you're a VTuber hoping to quit your day job and do this full time? The timeline you're measuring yourself against was built for people with infrastructure and support that you don't have, who also don't have the same demands or expectations you might face.
Your day job isn't a sign that you're "failing". It's how sustainable careers actually get built.
