@Bensam123TV@TheOrbitingAI@barelytolerabIe There are other ad networks. Look it up. Affiliate links are/were a huge part of revenue for many types of content creators. Sponsored content requires traffic on the site to serve the impressions - no clicks due to AI, no soon con. Etc includes things like non network ads.
@Bensam123TV@TheOrbitingAI@barelytolerabIe You're assuming sites make most of their money from Google ads, which isn't the case. Sites rely on traffic to sell audience access by multiple different means (other ad networks, affiliate links, sponsored content, etc). That's all disappearing if you don't actually get clicks
@Bensam123TV@TheOrbitingAI@barelytolerabIe But no one's actually getting the hits. That's the point. Real end game is AI companies essentially being publishers themselves and feeding info into the algorithm.
@Bensam123TV@TheOrbitingAI@barelytolerabIe Next level naivety. In a dead internet, there are no links anymore. Why would anyone choose to publish on a dead platform just to feed AI.
@THESiuMoi@rushicrypto True also. Fascinating to see many of the younger generations not have a clue outside of "pocket screen do magic." The expectation that each generation would know more just hasn't happened on a massive scale.
@rushicrypto True, but we also got older. Houses with gardens to tend and meeting mates at the pub is standard getting old comfort. The real barometer is the cross generational pushback. The fact that everyone's feeling that sense is when you know it's a problem.
@minimalist2021@HistoryBoomer Fine. Except that isn't the main point the picture is making, and isn't the emphasis of the rebuttal. We could all do well to use less fossil fuels by driving electric or having smaller, more pedestrian friendly cities, if you want to discuss modest living relevant to the OP.
@Romrijsel@seconds_0 Sure, but I can probably at some point afford to at least visit those places and experience them well enough. Staying in $10k a night hotels in Monaco and day tripping on multimillion dollar boats, not so much.
@Romy_Holland Yeah, nah. Best hotels, restaurants, and shopping in Monaco, Milan, Venice, Capri are going to set you back way more than anywhere in A. Not to mention superyacht cruising the med will be $100k in one go. You offer me all expenses, I'm taking full advantage.
@Romrijsel@seconds_0 No, the fact it's only two weeks still makes it meaningless. You'd have to take a helicopter to a new location everyday to see even a fraction of the big hits in each zone. And, all expenses or not, that doesn't actually sound fun.
@imidaily Nah, just like the original, this is no sort of limitation. It's a two week holiday, not a six month sabbatical or a life change. You'd hardly have time to see more than a couple of cities and a beach on one country, let alone feels the limits of these borders.
@TuryValdez@nib95_ They already have. AI will scrape every opinion and regurgitate the consensus to you. And in many, many ways that is far from a positive thing. The system can be gamed and reduced to meaninglessness just as metacritic can.
@nib95_ Indeed. The key thing you touch on here is that reviews are supposed to be informative to the potential consumer of the thing. You can also entertain (see Charlie Brooker
-style writing) but for a straight review, such a mismatch of writer and product fails its audience.
@Shut_the_fridge@jdpoc@JillCollier16 The hard work and wise choice is reaching out for these ops and not caring that people will hate/judge you for it. Essentially not caring as long as it makes money is a big ol' aspect of the business mindset.
@joeroganhq Such a weird take. What does he think talent even is to say this? And coming from a fighter. News flash, bud. Don't matter how talented you are, if the guy's big enough, you ain't beating him. Or is just sheer size talent now?
@anon_and_off@supposedlyr0sie On the effort:effect ratio, fixing a few people complaining about some heat (and the utter meaningless that is people arguing about it online) and preventing a handful of deaths from that heat (which doesn't even happen every year) is low vs preventing 40000 gun deaths every year
